It would give two of Apple's services a lot more raison d'etre.

With few changes beyond the colour display, you can't help but compare the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft to a tablet's popping hues
Still light to hold and easily portable ; Colours mimic printed magazines, while text stays very sharp ; Battery life is excellent
Colour images aren’t as sharp, muted compared to a tablet ; Software retains some limitations ; Price feels like an unwarranted jump
I’m pleased a colour Kindle is finally here, but the high price and few extra features hold the Colorsoft back – especially compared to a tablet’s popping hues.

The brilliant Kindle now has a color screen, but does this make the Kindle Colorsoft the model to buy? I've got the answer in my review.
Color screen ; Long battery life ; Water-resistant shell ; Wonderful reading experience ; Easy software
Slow performance when reading color sources ; Awkward power button location ; No dark mode
“The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft's color screen opens up new reading opportunities and adds visual pizzazz to an already superb e-reader.”

The new Amazon Kindle Colorsoft brings a smooth color display to your favorite books, and its bright screen looks great in direct sunlight. Plus, it's 20% off during Amazon's Spring Sale.

Slender design ; Excellent display ; Slick eBook ecosystem ; Waterproof design
More expensive than predecessor ; No auto-adjusting backlight ; No Audible support in Australia (without workarounds)
Slightly improved in so many ways, the 2024 Amazon Kindle Paperwhite remains the sweet spot of Amazon's eBook reader line up.

I've used several Paperwhite models and even the standard 2024 Kindle, but the 2024 Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is the best. Here's our review!
Great battery life ; Read in any light ; Best user experience yet on a Kindle ; Bigger battery
More expensive this year (but worth it)
