SVS touts their new 16-Ultra series subwoofers the most advanced in the world. We reviewed the PB16-Ultra which sports a 16" driver with 8" voice coil powered by 1500 watts to verify their claim.
Massive deep bass output ; Extremely low distortion ; Very nice finish and cabinet ; Highly adjustable frequency response ; Impervious to over-driving ; Very good customer service
Very heavy ; Enormous footprint ; Mid bass dynamic range not as powerful as deep bass

SVS stepped up their game with their new PB16-Ultra and SB16-Ultra subwoofers which they claim to be the most advanced in the world. Can these 1500 watt subs shatter our Extreme Bassaholic rating?

The SVS PB16-Ultra producers some of the best bass you'll ever hear.

What really impresses me is how well dialed-in the amp's limiter appears to be. You can push the driver to legitimately scary excursion levels, seemingly on the edge of what's mechanically possible, and yet the sub won't self-destruct if you push it...

Massive impact and low-end extension with minimal distortion make this sub a winner. A high-end subwoofer that will fill even a large home theater space with ease.
Beautiful build, impressive low-end performance for less money than the competition.
Requires a lot of space.
In the end, the SVS PB16-Ultra is a monster of a sub, both in terms of looks and performance. I have the room for it, so personally, the size doesn’t bother me, but not everyone will. Like the SB16-Ultra, its low distortion allows it to disappear and...
Consumer review (richersounds.com)
I've had svs stuff for same time now, and see richer sounds now do svs, so I wanted to upgrade my sub. So no better place then richer sounds.
