An excellent, classy and convenient soundbar that doesn't come cheap.
Fantastic design and build quality ; High-detail, wide and engaging sound ; Easy streaming from Spotify and suchlike ; No HDMI inputs
Creating a Sonos 5.1 system is expensive
The Sonos Playbar is a lounge-unifying device that will let you dump your remote controls and your old hi-fi in the bin. Once you've set it up, it’ll also let you control both your TV and your audio system with your phone. For everything but the most...

Can Sonos make soundbars cool?
Beautiful sound ; Integrates well into Sonos system ; Can wirelessly add sub and satellites ; Clever audio modes ; Rich, broadly-compatible apps
Not cheap ; Requires particular TVs ; No remote in the box ; Only one input
The Sonos Playbar may not be cheap, but feels worth every penny. There's enough rumble in the bass to give action movies an appropriate sense of drama, but the mid-range and high-frequency audio is also sweet and clean. We like the Playbar enormously....

The Sonos PLAYBAR marks a brave move for the world's music-streaming darlings
Simplicity ; TV integration ; Design
Surround sound could be better ; Audiophiles will need a sub

The Playbar is Sonos in a soundbar – with a couple of little caveats, that's as good a proposition as it seems
Neat, stylish and minimalist ; The full, brilliant Sonos experience ; Thoughtful little features ; Wide, deep, detailed and dynamic soundstage ; Upgradeable with a Sub and/or Play3s
Doesn’t push sound into the room as much as it could ; Optical is only connection option ; Cannot handle DTS soundtracks

The Sonos combination will blow your TV's sound out of the water, but it still isn't quite the finished article
Wide, detailed, dynamic sound ; Solid, well-defined bass ; Minimalist design ; Fantastic streaming abilities
Doesn’t sound as direct or as well integrated as some rivals ; Only one digital input ; No DTS decoding
If you sign up for the Playbar and Sub, you’ll need to take into account a couple of minor caveats – but as a streaming system and alternative to terrible TV sound, this Sonos system is well worth a shout.

The Sonos Playbar is a fantastic piece of kit that really delivers on its promise of simplicity, and quality. It isn't cheap, but it does add to your
Great sound ; Easy setup ; Voice control via an Alexa-enabled device ; Ample bass without sub ; Sonos app platform remains one of the best out there ; Seamless multi-room integration with Sonos system
No HDMI ; No 7.1 support ; Very expensive ; No DTS Surround support
The Sonos Playbar is a fantastic piece of kit that really delivers. While the price might seem high on the surface you are getting a speaker that replaces your AV receiver, a stack of speakers, and the ability to make it part of a bigger streaming...

Having effectively modernised hi-fi, the wireless titan that is Sonos has set its sights on the booming soundbar business, and seemingly almost by default, finds itself a home cinema player, too. But can the brand really replicate its audio success in...
Easy wireless setup; big, bold audio quality; well-built; Sonos Controller app and music services are good fun
Solitary optical input proves limiting; no DTS decoder onboard; multichannel package painfully expensive

Sonos has entered the Home Cinema arena with a new sound bar speaker called the Playbar that connects to the Sonos multi-room system and your TV at the

All the awesome of Sonos crammed into a TV-boosting soundbar – what's not to like?
Throbs with Sonos quality ; Massive music selection ; Superior to built-in TV speakers
Optical connection, not HDMI ; Expanding the system is pricey
This isn’t a soundbar, this is a Sonos soundbar, and it’s really rather awesome
Expert review by : Chris Martin (techadvisor.co.uk)
The Playbar is Sonos' first effort to get into home cinema. It's a big and expensive soundbar, but has a lot to offer. See all digital home reviews.
The Sonos Playbar is a superb soundbar. Not only is it sleek and well-built, but it also provides unparalleled sound with plenty of extra features which make it even more desirable. We can't fault the Playbar, but the high price will put it out of...
