Pioneer SP-SB23W review

The Pioneer SP-SB23W ($400/AU$849) sounds better than just about any sound bar we've heard. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's been following Pioneer's line of Andrew Jones-designed budget speakers , which have consistently offered...

The Pioneer SP-SB23W offers outstanding sound quality for a sound bar, particularly when it comes to the blend between the sub and the main cabinet. Performance is even more impressive considering the size of the tiny wireless subwoofer, which is easy...

The system's style won't wow you and the sound bar's relatively chunky size might block your TV's remote sensor. The included remote is mediocre and there's no front-panel display for visual feedback while making adjustments.

The Pioneer SP-SB23W is the best affordable sound bar if you care about sound quality, with its outstanding sonics making up for some of its design limitations.

Review: Pioneer SP-SB23W sound bar

Wood construction Pioneer sound bar impresses

Wood build for resonance- Good, even volume- High accuracy sound reproduction

Large speaker bar- Problematic installation- Known (fixable) Bluetooth issues

Extremely Disappointed

Ok, let me start by saying that I am usually a fairly laid back dude, so I seldom, if EVER, go out of my way to write a review on a product, good or bad. However, I almost felt like I owed future buyers this review. No, I am not a professional audio...

Sound quality is as promised

Reliability, ease of use, remote control, lack of display

Awesome Sound Quality for the price

Better sounding Speakers, with excellent mids, lows. Speaker itself is a little bulky and can obstruct the TV or other remote sensors (if placed that way) and has no display apart from a few basic LED indicators, Wish they had atleast some basic...

Great solution if you're low on space... or commitment

Consider me (temporarily, at least) one of the latter. I spent a lot of years with a built out home theater system, but after moving to my current house, I realized that setting up that system again was going to be a daunting task due to the way the...

Sound quality is excellent Wireless compact subwoofer delivers clean and tight bass Looks good, easy to operate Bluetooth works nicely

Good price, sounds great!

Overall very happy with it and going to buy another one soon.

Easy to hook up. With optical cable. Bluetooth. Awesome Sound, it's clear and crisp. It get's loud and the bass is powerful!

It's kinda big, it won't fit under the TV, The remote is kinda small.

High Fidelity at a bargain price.

Great value if you are concerned about sound.

Been through about 5 sound bars.the Sony HTC260 sounded cheap and tinny. The Vizio 42" sounded very good but the volume increments are ridiculous (hit volume up 3 times and it's like a rock concert volume). The Yamaha was decent but no subwoofer.

Not the most attractive looking sound bar No digital Coaxial input No treble or base adjustments

Outstanding sound quality

With a functioning bluetooth, this is a great-sounding speaker bar in the low to moderate price range.

Great sound. I like the wood finish.

First batch from August had bluetooth defects. This has been remedied in subsequent production. Somewhat bulky compared to it's peers. Interesting the model released in Europe HTP-SB 510 and the model released back in Japan HTP-SB550 looks great.
