Naim has a distinguished track record making high-end hi-fi components, but Mu-So represents the British brand's first foray into the world of wireless speakers.
Stunning design and construction ; Extensive streaming features ; Outstanding sound quality ; Easy-to-use smartphone app
Slow to skip Spotify tracks ; Remote ; Comparatively expensive – but worth it

We've been well and truly wowed by Naim's first wireless speaker
Awesome design ; Brilliant sound ; Input flexibility
Budget remote ; Price

Best wireless speaker £800+, Awards 2016. A hugely desirable wireless speaker with hi-fi aspirations, the Mu-so is stunning
Rich, powerful sound ; Huge sense of scale and soaring dynamics ; Finish and design ; Excellent features list ; Intuitive operation
Sounds a touch thick at high volumes
A hugely desirable wireless speaker with hi-fi aspirations, the Mu-so is stunning

Hi-fi systems in the traditional sense are a bit of a dying breed. But Naim, a company which makes some incredible (yet eye-wateringly expensive) systems, isn't shying away from the new order. Ok, so we've got no idea what the name is all about, but...
Great industrial design that stands-out, sublime sound quality whatever you listen to, bundles of connectivity and app control
Plasticky remote control, Bluetooth requires re-pairing when toggling between sources, big and heavy so won’t suit all, no HDMI
Ok, so we've got no idea what the name is all about, but that's easily forgivable because the Naim Mu-so is one seriously standout wireless speaker. Sure, its £895 price tag is going to deter its fullest possible audience, but the Mu-so is so good it's...

Naim Audio has long been one of the touchstones of British audio industry, an electronics brand founded in the early 70s that earned a fearsome reputation for uncompromising amplifiers, before later expanding into making complete hi-fi systems.
In most respects the Naim mu-so would make the perfect companion to the modern home as a one-stop music centre. It can play sound from phone, tablets, NAS drives and music servers, internet radio, as well as local sources like a telly through its...

Plenty of wireless speaker systems do a decent, musical job. But the Naim Mu-so can make a valid claim to be genuine hi-fi
Beautiful build – especially that wonderful, tactile knob ; Sounds great ; Chock full of streaming features
It’s expensive ; The sound can thicken up a touch – but only at serious volumes
The first proper ‘hi-fi’ wireless speaker? We certainly think so: looks good, sounds superb.

This wireless stereo speaker sounds as refined, assured and cool as it looks

As most will know Naim produce quality high end audio products so a unit cost less than four figures is for Naim near entry level. This is a quality six speaker system in a single case however it is not a completely dumb unit.
This arrived with me just prior to Christmas and I spent far too long experimenting with it, when the online manual was located it answered some of my questions something that the online help system did not do. It comes with a fold out sheet that is...

Naim might not be a company you have heard before. Chances are, if you aren't into high-end audio, they are a bit of a misnomer.
It isn't cheap, but Naim's hard work and prowess has clearly paid off with the Mu-so. You're looking at a very high-end product that provides a simple all-in-one solution for making music sound nice, straight from your mobile.

Naim is well out of its comfort zone with its latest product but will the mu-so sink or swim?
Exceptional sound from a relatively small box ; Handsome appearance ; Useful facilities
Not ideal for background music ; Fairly large footprint ; No upgrade path
Clever lifestyle audio products are now very thick on the ground and the mu-so pitches into a field where the hi-fi credentials of the brand that makes it matter less than sheer shelf appeal and the aptitude of the design. As a Naim user I appreciate...
