Monitor Audio Platinum PL300 II review

We're full of admiration for these refined-sounding, beautifully built floorstanders...

A clean, immensely detailed sound ; Capable of loads of controlled bass ; Huge scale and volume capability ; Excellent build and finish

Sound lacks a bit of bite and excitement

The PL300 IIs are clearly better than the originals in most ways, but their sound lacks a bit of drama

Monitor Audio Platinum PL300 review

Nothing in the company's recent history prepares you for how good these speakers are

A transparent and articulate sound ; seamless presentation ; exceptional build and finish

Work best in a larger room

If you’ve got five grand to spend and want a pair of big floorstanders, these Monitor Audios should be right at the top of your list

Monitor Audio Platinum PL300 review

Monitor Audio sets its sights on the high-end hi-fi market

Refined, detailed system ; Makes the most of high-performance sources and amplifiers ; Images unusually well in large spaces

High resolution means special care is needed with system-matching - it'll show what's wrong with your system, as well as its strong points

This is more than just the biggest and most costly Monitor Audio loudspeaker yet. It's a tribute to the skills of the design team, which hasn't previously shown much interest in the high end. It's also well priced

There was a time when much of the best loudspeaker technology emanated from the UK - but sadly, those days are mostly over. With the singular exception of B&W, most truly interesting and high-class loudspeaker design now comes from North America, the...

Monitor Audio PL-300

I have been using the product over 3 years. It is easy to drive. I use a 6C33B SET monoblock amplifiers to drive these speakers. I bought it new and was paid 5.500$. I suppose this was less than it's normal sales range. While buying these speakers I...
