The Emberton II boasts the same stylish looks as the original model, but benefits from tweaks to its audio and app support
Clearer, more detailed sound ; Extended battery life ; Improved dust-resistance and sustainable design ; App support
Bass is a little less vibrant than the original ; Price has sneaked up
The Emberton II boasts the same stylish looks as the original model, but benefits from tweaks to its audio and app support, while also boosting dust-resistance and battery life. As a wireless speaker you can take to the park, beach or on holiday – the...

A stylish, simple speaker with a fantastic battery life
Fantastic battery ; Balanced sound ; Looks cool
No mic or voice assistant ; No EQ customization (just presets) ; Max volume could sound better
The Marshall Emberton 2 is a speaker that oozes style. Sound is balanced and clear, and there are some EQ presets within the app. It’s durable and water resistant, with a fantastic 30-hour battery. Bass and volume lack a little clarity and accuracy...

Marshall Emberton II is a fantastic little speaker and it looks really cool too
£30+ hours of battery ; IP67 water and dust resistant ; 3 preset sound modes in the app
No manual equaliser ; Can't use it as a speakerphone ; Lacks extra smart features
Combining fantastic sound with a seriously cool design, the Marshall Emberton II is one of the best portable Bluetooth speakers you can buy right now. Given its small size, you'll be very surprised at how powerful it is!

The Emberton II promises numerous upgrades over the original. We've put it through its paces to find out how the latest iteration stacks up.
Stylish and compact design ; Superb sound quality ; Massive 30-hour battery ; IP67 dust and water resistance ; User friendly and speedy pairing
Little in the way of features ; No microphone ; No wired connectivity ; Very similar to its predecessor
The Marshall Emberton II is a great sounding, stylish and compact speaker that we're sure most people will love. For owners of the original Emberton, there is little reason to upgrade, but, for everyone else, it's a cracking little speaker that's worth...

It's still not perfect but the latest effort from Marshall is another excellent compact Bluetooth speaker with style, sound and substance
Stylish, durable & sustainable design ; Big, balanced sound ; Very long battery life ; Stack Mode
No AAC or aptX ; More expensive
The Emberton II still isn’t perfect but there are a number of improvements here which take it a little bit closer. Those looking for a compact, long-lasting, great-sounding Bluetooth speaker have found a real contender here.

Excellent sound quality Rugged IP67 build Easy portability Great battery life Sync with similar speakers
No AAC or aptX support No wired playback Pricey

The Marshall Emberton II is a stylish waterproof Bluetooth speaker that sounds solid at moderate volumes, but it's not a meaningful upgrade over the original.

An otherwise basic Bluetooth speaker separates itself from the crowd with killer design and construction.
Really looks like a classic Marshall amp head ; Excellent sound at low and medium volume ; Multiple speakers can be linked ; Rugged construction
Audio is harsh and distorted at top volume ; Limited EQ options ; No auxiliary input ; Linked speakers don’t produce stereo
You’ll pay a premium for the Marshall logo and a design that takes its cues from the real amps, but anyone drawn to this speaker’s design won’t be disappointed with the way it sounds.
