M-Audio Studiophile AV 30
The M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 is a powered speaker system with magnetic shielding, a solid construction, and a beefy sound quality, all priced less than $100.
The integrated amplifier doesn't get loud enough to wake the neighbors, and the power switch is inconveniently located on the back.
M-Audio's Studiophile AV 30 speaker system delivers powerful, detailed sound in a relatively compact space, and does it all at a remarkably low price.

Compared to the AV 40 which is priced at $150, its sibling has been priced $99. Also it does not have the same features but yeah obviously since its priced less u cant expect the same stuff from this one. This one resorts to using a cheaper amplifier...
punchy lows, clear, crisp highs, dandy speakers for the price, classic design, not bulky
Gets really hot in the back, a bit of a deep bass response, integrated amplifier isn't that loud, also the power button is located awkwardly at the back
: The sound quality is fantabulous not much of shrill or blaring sounds. Highly impressive at the price that it is being offered for. If u are looking out for a high end speaker at a layman affordable price for probably a small room and you are not...

Well built and compact, decent amplifier built in. Easy to set up and connect to pc. Good bass response
Audio is quite flat and lifeless when listening to music but fine for spoken voice. Needs a third party equalizer to boost mid/ upper frequencies, such DFX or wmp graphic equalizer. Amplifier hum audible in quiet passages.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I honestly cannot think of a single genre that is disadvantaged from these speakers. I listen to just about everything, my favorite genres being classical, metal, and electronic dance music (mostly trance). Obviously with classical music, it is hard to...
Clean Sound ; Bass boost doesn't hinder the other frequencies, just raises the lowest ones slightly ; Brings out details in sound I can't even get out of my best pair of headphones ; Looks great around my PC monitor ; That hum that all speakers get...

Good capacitors are only a little more expensive than cheap ones that blow up after 14 months, and would be worth paying a little more. Shame on M-Audio for cutting corners! They obviously have the expertise in house to make good speakers. But until I...
Sounded GREAT while they worked. So I gave them a 5-egg review soon after buying them
Stopped working; busted caps (blown capacitors). Both electrolytics capacitors in the left speaker have swollen, and spewed disgusting yellow goo all over the circuit board, so even if I replace the busted caps, the speakers will probably never work again
Consumer review (tigerdirect.com)
These speakers are a great upgrade if you are thinking about replacing your workstation's existing speakers. The convenience ports on the front are very handy should you want to run a line out of your MP3 player or external device, and the headphone...
