Libratone Loop review

Bright and open signature ; Tight bass ; Well-timed and articulate ; Flexible placement

Treble can sound sharp ; Non-Apple users may find it slightly limiting

An enjoyable sound from a unique-looking speaker

Libratone Loop review

We've had something of a love-hate relationship with the Libratone Loop. This circular-fronted speaker has a distinctive, quirky design and - even though we've ended up with the grey finish for review instead of one of the more exciting colour options...

Plenty of bass, sounds really good, quirky design and colour options give it a distinctive edge

No Bluetooth, setup and AirPlay playback hit and miss, expensive, driver rattling, top-end can be harsh

Our experience with the Libratone Loop has been a rollercoaster ride from frustration through to full-on aural pleasure and then back to the start again. But that's because we’ve had AirPlay issues - something you might not experience. That being the...

Libratone Loop: AirPlay speaker plays well with Android and Windows devices

The Loop isn't cheap at $499.95, but it's got a slick, modern design and streams audio from a variety of devices.

I would like to thank Libratone for sending the Loop in for review and look forward to getting better acquainted with their products in the future.

Libratone Loop Wireless Speaker Review

Today I take a look at the Libratone Loop which has been exceptionally designed but will the performance live up to its price tag?

Considering the price I would have hoped for a tiny bit better sound from it overall; especially at higher volumes, though I really don’t know what I should have been expecting in general from a speaker of this price. I can say this however, now that...

Libratone Loop

The Libratone Loop is an attractive-looking AirPlay speaker, but at $500 it needs to do more than just look pretty, and it just doesn't sound as good as it should.

A $500 speaker can be expected to offer a certain level of performance. The nicest thing I can say about the Libratone Loop is that it subverts expectations, an act which I can at least philosophically appreciate. Like any good 13-inch-wide speaker,...

Libratone Loop review

The Loop's design makes it a pleasant aesthetic addition to the modern home, but its sharp upper register and flat midrange put it far from the kind of eloquent and balanced sound we expect in a hi-fi device.

The Liberatone Loop’s design makes it a pleasant aesthetic addition to the modern home, and will likely attract attention and discussion from visitors. Serving a background role, it will provide sufficient sound at a dinner party or social event. But...

Libratone Loop

The Libratone Loop is an attractive-looking AirPlay speaker, but at $500 it needs to do more than just look pretty, and it just doesn't sound as good as it should.

Looks attractive. Gets loud. Clear, detailed-sounding midrange performance.

Distorting bass and overly bright highs with some genres of music. Stand can buzz against the table with heavy bass.

The Libratone Loop is certainly eye-catching, but its $500 price tag demands more than just looking good. A speaker this expensive should sound great, and the Loop simply isn't up to snuff. If you want the best performance in this price range, the...
