Klipsch Gig

The Klipsch Gig is a powerful, full-sounding portable Bluetooth speaker, but it distorts at top volumes on bass-heavy tracks.

The Gig employs digital signal processing (DSP), which typically ensures that there will be no distortion by limiting a track’s transient peaks at higher volumes. On the Gig, however, the DSP can’t quite restrain tracks with serious sub-bass content,...

Klipsch GiG review

With full, powerful sound, good stereo separation, and some impressive dynamic expression, Klipsch's new Gig has a lot going for it.

With full, powerful sound, good stereo separation, and some impressive dynamic expression, Klipsch’s new Gig has a lot going for it. However, the audio-nut in us wished for more clarity and detail at times, especially with more intricate selections in...

Klipsch Gig

The Klipsch Gig is a powerful, full-sounding portable Bluetooth speaker, but it distorts at top volumes on bass-heavy tracks.

Powerful audio performance at moderate-to-high volumes, especially on tracks lacking intense sub-bass content. NFC-enabled. Includes speakerphone functionality. Ships with wall charger and international outlet adapters.

Distorts on deep bass tracks at high volumes. Highly sculpted sound signature not for purists. Bulkier than most portable speakers.

The comparably priced Bose SoundLink Mini doesn't suffer from the distortion issues the Gig has at maximum volumes, but it arguably has less low frequency push at moderate levels. If these options are out of your price range, the Panasonic SC-NT10 and...

Klipsch Gig (black)

I'll tell you what I like about it. For starters, it's got a nice sturdy feel to it -- and by that I mean it feels substantial, even though it's compact.

The Klipsch Gig is a well-designed, compact Bluetooth speaker with strong bass and good battery life (12 hours). It has a built-in speakerphone and offers AptX and NFC support for devices that include those features

While the bass is strong, the sound could be more detailed. It's somewhat pricey.

While it doesn't beat the sound of some competing speakers in its $200 price class, the Klipsch Gig gets a lot of things right, offering a strong design and feature set along with comparatively deep bass for a speaker its size.

Klipsch Gig portable Bluetooth speaker review

An increasing number of premium compact Bluetooth speakers are proliferating at the $200 price point, which is where the Klipsch Gig, currently the smallest model in Klipsch's line of wireless Bluetooth speakers, finds itself.

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Work great for 9 months

I have a Klispe sound bar that still sounds amazing and had it for 2 years now.

Work great for 9 months

After the 9 months period the bluetooth stopped working and speaker was blown. Never left the speaker out in the rain. The battery though still works great.

Great sound!

Fantastic sound and very long battery life

For whatever reason I have a hard time turning it off. Guess I need to read the manual.

Great Sound

Sounds that come out of this little speaker are fabulous especially if you like to hear your bass notes come through.

Bluetooth does not automatically connect. You have to go to settings manually each time your wireless bluetooth device turns off to re-establish connection. Instruction manual is useless. Most useful information on the product came from the wrap around...

Reasonably Good

To get the unit into pairing mode is not intuitive, you must turn the unit on with one pull up of a switch, then pull up and hold the same switch again for 5 seconds to get into pairing mode. It is in the instructions, but there is no indication on the...

Small, well built and professional looking. Packaging was very well done. Good volume Reasonable Bass response

Not getting any stereo separation, but that is not promised except in customer questions & answers. Operation is easy, but not intuitive. (see Other Thoughts) I find the highs a little muted from what i expected, but I am a Klipsch fan so this might...
