JBL Clip 2 review

  (Rating Hidden)

JBL's Clip 2 speaker will fit nicely into your luggage if you're heading on holiday. Does this mini Bluetooth speaker pack a punch, or is it too small to be worth the cash? We sent the JBL Clip 2 to the test lab to find out.

JBL Clip 2

The JBL Clip 2 is a budget-friendly Bluetooth speaker that delivers solid audio performance in a supremely portable, outdoor-friendly design.

Powerful audio performance for the size. Waterproof. Speakerphone functionality. Built-in audio cable for wired listening.

Track navigation button can't skip backward. Not for those seeking big bass response.

If you're looking for a bigger bass sound in a portable bluetooth speaker, the more expensive Sony SRS-XB3 and EcoXGear EcoCarbon are solid, water-resistant options. In this price range, we are also fans of the Ultimate Ears UE Roll and the less...

JBL Clip 2 review: Tiny Bluetooth speaker improves with full waterproofing, boosted battery life

While the the JBL Clip 2 sounds about the same as its predecessors, it offers some small but significant upgrades.

The JBL Clip 2 Bluetooth speaker is a hockey-puck-size speaker with a built-in lithium ion rechargeable battery that offers decent sound for its size, improved battery life (eight hours), and is fully waterproof. It also has an integrated line-in cable...

It doesn't handle big bass well and distorts at higher volumes; should cost a little less.

If it's a tiny wireless speaker you're after, the JBL Clip 2 is an appealing choice with some small but significant improvements over its predecessors.

JBL Clip2 review: Ultra-portable premium sound

With a sturdy aluminum carabiner and an IPX7 waterproof rating the only thing we need to figure out is if the JBL Clip2 sounds any good.

Rounded in shape and made of strong rubbers and plastics, the JBL Clip 2 is a ruggedly handsome design. This little guy is IPX7 waterproof which means it can go under water up to 1m for 30 minutes. The carabiner is made from strong aluminum and is...

Review: JBL Reflect Contour | As If Glued Stuck JBL Reflect Contour

Even an avid athlete will have trouble ripping the JBL out of the ears.

The fit is wonderfully well, if one likes the hoop around the ear. Price and battery life are also approved.

The remote control of the wire is a little big and complicated. The sound could do well with a little more bottom and bass.

JBL is one of the well-known players in headphone tests, and they have always performed quite brilliantly. The sound quality is fine, without being flashy, and the battery life is good. Where Reflect Contour really stands out is in the fit. They just...

If you're looking for an ultraportable Bluetooth speaker that costs less than $100, the Clip 2 is the best option. It's waterproof, has good battery life and sounds great. Other ultraportables usually falter when it comes to sound quality, but the Clip...

Very good sound for a small speaker ; Improved battery life ; Waterproof

Not very loud ; No app

With improved sound quality, ruggedness and battery life, the Clip 2 is the best inexpensive ultraportable speaker available now.
