The JBL Flip 4 is a small Bluetooth speaker with excellent water resistance and a frame willing to put up with plenty of abuse. It's a compelling alternative to the UE Wonderboom.

Sound quality isn't flawless, but still a great little worker...
Intuitive design ; Good volume ; Waterproof
Could be more detailed ; Not as dynamic as we’d like

A life-friendly speaker that doesn't skimp on sound
Decent, rugged design ; Reasonable price tag ; Plenty of bass
Underwhelming mid-range sound ; Slightly basic looks ; Boring colour options
The JBL Flip 4 is a robust, affordable Bluetooth speaker, and one that’s comfortably supplying sounds to all elements of your life. While the speaker might be punchy, deficiencies in the mid-range stop it being an instant must-buy. Bringing bluntness...

JBL's life-proof Flip 4 is durable, affordable, and perfect for all kinds of outdoor excursions.
Take it anywhere ; Durable, waterproof shell ; Powerful bass response ; Good battery life ; Cool connectivity features
Middling clarity in upper register ; Doesn’t play well with other speakers (yet)
The Flip 4 doesn’t reinvent the wheel – or even reupholster it – but it’s a solid upgrade to an already-strong line of speakers from JBL. There are plenty of wireless speakers, gobs of affordable ones, and plenty of waterproof ones, too, but few...

$100 isn't chickenfeed, but this small speaker sounds like it should cost a lot more.
Sounds great with all kinds of music ; IPX7 water resistance ; Two can be configured as a stereo pair
No AC adapter included ; No track forward/back controls

The JBL Flip speakers were already really good. Changes to the newest fourth-generation version make them even better.
The JBL Flip 4 offers significant improvements over the Flip 3, including better sound and battery life, as well as full waterproofing. It has speakerphone capabilities and a more durable fabric covering.
Its bass is improved but it still lacks some real bass punch.
A nice upgrade over its predecessor, the Flip 4 is one of the best speakers in its size and price class.
