Aliph Jawbone Jambox

It may be impressive, but it is hard to justify the cost of this slick, portable Bluetooth speaker.

If your built-in phone speakers are just not up to scratch and you fancy something with a bit more oomph and style to share your tunes with, check out what we had to say about the Jambox in this video. It's not your usual review, that's for sure....

Jawbone Jambox

Not entirely new as I am told this first launched more than eighteen months ago. However at an event specifically to showoff its larger sibling I left with one of these smaller units to review. The brand new larger unit will follow later.

It is 15x4x5.5cm and weights 340grams. Mine was orange top and bottom and black metallic grill over the four sides. Very like an ice cream brick - not that I think you can still get them – they do a range of other colours. The centre of the top has...

Review: Jawbone Jambox

Although there are a number of smartphones with capable speakers (Nokia 5800/X6/N8 all come to mind), many have loudspeakers which are rather weedy if we're honest. Making podcasting listening around the house somewhat of an ear-straining experience...

Goondu review: Jawbone Jambox offers big sound in a tiny package

Small Bluetooth gizmo works well as a portable desktop speaker, but as a Bluetooth speaker-phone, it leaves users asking for more.

If you have the spare cash and are shopping around for a portable speaker, the Jambox is a great choice.

Jawbone Jambox

The Aliph Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth speaker has a great feature set and packs a lot of punch considering its size, but it's still a bit pricey for a tiny speaker.

Solid, unique design. Easy to use. Supports apps.

Middling sound quality still can't compare to most iPod docks of the same price.

Jawbone Big Jambox

Doubles as a speakerphone. Good sound quality with powerful low end for its size. Clear voice quality. Long battery life.

Bass distorts slightly at high volumes.

The Jawbone Big Jambox doesn't offer the best audio quality among portable Bluetooth speakers, but its long battery life, speakerphone features, and generally solid sound make it worth a listen.

Jawbone Jambox with LiveAudio review

We've been fans of the Jawbone Jambox ever since its late 2010 launch. Although its $200 price tag is sure to cause a double-take, living with a Jambox for the last six months made me a believer in...

Binaural recordings sound great ; Switching LiveAudio on and off is a snap ; Jambox speaker is a mighty tyke

LiveAudio doesn't work with all music ; LiveAudio softens volume and dynamic range on some tracks ; No easy way to determine if a track will benefit from LiveAudio

Unfortunately, the effect only works on tracks recorded with three-dimensional binaural listening in mind
