Speakers: Subwoofers: Energy Encore 8 Subwoofer

The Encore 8 subwoofer is a rear-vented bass-reflex design with a 150-watt Mosfet amplifier. It uses a single 8 inch high-excursion injection-molded polypropylene cone with a 1.5 inch voice coil. The cabinet is constructed of three-quarter inch MDF.

Energy Loudspeakers 8 Powered Subwoofer Encore 8

Excellent subwoofer with very articulate bass output. In my medium sized room, there was more than enough volume to fill my room. This subwoofer is paired up with a set of Energy Veritas 2.2 speakers and this combination is breathtaking. Initially, I...

Fast and articulate.- Easy access to front controls on sub.- Small footprint.- Beautiful high gloss black finish.- High level inputs and speaker outputs.- Metal mesh covering speaker.- Detachable AC cord

Cheap front grille. Tabs broke off during installation of grille.- No phase control. Limits placement of sub.- Owner's manual leaves much to be desired

I own the Energy Encore system and love it. The sound is clean and warm. I have had an occassional (very rare) "pop" when listening to certain DVD's. It eminates from the subwoofer on a few DVD's I own. Strange because it doesn't seem to be related to...

Deep strong bass- Sexy looking (to other subwoofers of course.. ahem :)

Energy Loudspeakers 8 Powered Subwoofer Encore 8

The Encore 8 is part of a bigger system using the new C-7'towers, CC1 center, and C-1 bookshelfs for rear surround. For apartment size rooms this sub is superb. It is not going to move enormous volumes of air. It WILL give you the sort of speed and...

Energy Loudspeakers 8 Powered Subwoofer Encore 8

IMHO, this sub is the best sub on the market under 750$ (CAN), and is definately superior to a number of 1000$+ subs out there. Why, you ask? Although there are boomier, louder, bigger subs out there, they do not have the poise, control, and clarity...

Good tight AND even frequency response especially for a small driver, small cabinet size, beautiful finish, excellent 150W rms/600W peak amp

I just wish there was more of it........Also, I know that some of them can have problems (defective out of box), but the rest of them are sonically superior so this is a moot point. Any half-decent retailer will gladly exchange a defective unit anyways...
