The arrow on the volume dial is off center.. might be just mine though. Basically my lowest volume setting is about 90 degrees below the line for the lowest. I don't think you will use that to tell volume... I just play music and adjust to the volume...

I have a large bluetooth speaker for home but I wanted something to play music when we went to the beach. I remember Diamond Multimedia from the Diamond Rio MP3 players so I tried one out. It works great, just as I had hoped from a little speaker.

I read the reviews about the hiss and unfortunately it was too late to return it. I didn't even attempt to use this as an alarm clock. Instead I put it in the living room as a clock/current temp/bluetooth speaker. It works really well as that.
