Bowers and Wilkins T7 review

A beautiful, gutsy Bluetooth speaker that can't make up for the cost

Mesmerizing design ; Stellar sound quality ; Long-lasting battery

Lack of modern features ; Expensive

Audio aficionados will enjoy the well-rounded experience offered by the T7, but casual listeners will find a better value elsewhere.

Review: Bowers & Wilkins T7 Bluetooth Speaker

The Bowers & Wilkins T7 speaker isn't a failure, but it is not the stunning success one would expect to see from this high-end audio...

Sounds great at modest volumes; remarkably close to the sound signature of B&W's famous iPhone docks and AirPlay speakers. Battery lasts over 15 hours. Smart hardware design uses a honeycomb dampener and a rubber exterior to minimize rattle. Bluetooth,...

Audio tends to be over-compressed. The digital shaping that occurs at higher volumes makes Jimi's guitar sound like a car horn. Charges with a bulky wall wart instead of USB. Not splash-proof. No speakerphone function. Given the competition, $350 is...

Bowers & Wilkins T7

The unique design of the Bowers & Wilkins T7 speaker is matched by a high-quality portable Bluetooth audio experience.

Powerful audio output for size. Rich bass and clear, well-defined high-mids and highs. Stunning design.

Not for purists. DSP prevents distortion, but sculpts the sound at higher volumes. Light on accessories. No speakerphone feature.

If you love the idea of the T7's balanced sound signature, the similarly priced Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A2 is another outstanding portable Bluetooth option, but like the T7, is expensive. If these prices are beyond your budget, the Bose SoundLink Mini...

Bowers & Wilkins T7 Portable Wireless Speaker review: Big sound with a few small problems

Few Bluetooth speakers sound or look as good as the T7 Portable Wireless Speaker, but it has some flaws.

Clean, crisp sound with excellent aural separation for speaker of its size ; Easy to pair ; Long battery life ; Striking good looks

No built-in microphone for speakerphone or virtual assistant functionality ; Charges via an clunky AC adapter instead of over USB ; Large and heavy enough that its portability is questionable ; Expensive

While there is a veritable sea of less expensive Bluetooth speakers out there, few that we’ve encountered sound or look as good as the T7 Portable Wireless Speaker. Were it not for a few design flaws and its quirky audio filtering at higher audio...

Great little speaker!

Stylish and subtle, great quality sound from such a small unit. Sound quality is maintained at even full volume.

Black Friday bargain

As an owner of a B&W A7 AirPlay speaker I was also in the market for a Bluetooth speaker to take on our travels and had had my eye on the T7 for quite some time. I finally pulled the trigger during the Black Friday sale. It is very rare to see the T7...

Little big speaker.

Its Bowers & Wilkins, you get what you pay for, and its worth it. Compact, stylish, great sound, simple to use. Get a carry case for it to protect it and it will look and sound amazing forever.

Sound before looks

Ample sound from a small unit. Easy to operate. "Looks" some way down the designer's list. Think solidly built small rubber encased brick!
