Bose Portable Home Speaker review: Sound significantly beyond its size

A portable speaker with big sound, bass, and a sturdy build. It's pricey, but it's feature packed and arguably the only smart speaker you'll ever need

Big sound and bass that sounds well beyond the product size ; Lots of connectivity - Airplay 2 / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth ; Genuinely portable - and decent 12hr battery life

It's rather pricey ; Struggles at its top volumes ; Not dynamic enough at lower volumes

Glance at this speaker and you'll probably be left scratching your head as to why its asking price is so much for a small little thing. Switch it on, however, and the sensational audio will let you know in a heartbeat. It sounds big beyond its scale...

Bose Portable Home Speaker

The Bose Portable Home Speaker is a waterproof portable speaker with built-in Google Assistant and Alexa, but slim smarts hold it back.

Bose Portable Home Speaker review

All around you, everywhere

Premium and very portable design ; Room-filling 360 sound ; Alexa and Google Assistant all over the house ; IPX4 means it can go outdoors too

Very expensive ; You can find better-sounding speakers that cost less ; Bose Music app is average

Not perfect and definitely not cheap, but the feature-packed Bose Portable Home Speaker is still very easy to like

Bose Portable Home Speaker review: Great sound, anywhere

Few wireless speakers combine Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, smart assistants, and a built-in battery so you can take them anywhere. The $350 Bose Portable Home Speaker is one of these, and it manages to sound great too. While not as full-sounding or capable as the...

Very portable ; High sensitivity mics ; Great 360-degree sound ; Alexa and Google Assistant ; AirPlay 2

The Bose Portable Home Speaker offers great sound and smarts in a totable design

Bose Portable Home Speaker

The Bose Portable Home Speaker delivers Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control with powerful wireless audio for its size, if not its price.

Powerful audio with rich bass and crisp highs. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control. Streams via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

Expensive. Mono. Speaker has trouble with deep bass at high volume levels.

The Bose Portable Home Speaker is one of the more intuitive smart models we've tested, and if you have other Bose smart speakers, it will fit right into your multi-room setup. While it delivers impressive power for its size, the overall audio...

Bose Portable Home Speaker review: This mobile smart speaker is good to go

Doing more with less, Bose challenges the Sonos Move and almost prevails.

Natural sound and a good feature set in a very compact package ; Stable connectivity with speaker cohorts and in most walk-around situations ; Plenty of product support, with a well-honed app and live customer agents at the ready

Neither the brightest nor most boomtastic performer on the block ; Could have better Wi-Fi range ; Not well protected from water incursion

Honestly, the Bose Portable Home is neither the brightest and boldest sounding of the new breed of smart portable speakers (that honor goes to the Sonos Move), nor is it the best value going (give that to the UE Megablast). But when not subjected to a...

Review: Bose Portable Home Speaker – Google, Alexa, Airplay 2, Wi-Fi and BT

The Bose Portable Home speaker has pretty much everything you could want. First, it speaks Goggle and Alexa (no Siri); can stream over Wi-Fi any music or Bose Portable Home Speaker

Nice, listenable unique ‘Bose’ sound signature;Up to 12-hour battery life;Good far-field mics;Bose quality

Water-resistant – not waterproof; No Chromecast or 3.5mm AUX-in;EQ adjustment does little – it is what it is;If using as a voice speaker, it need to remain on power in Wi-Fi range
