We check out Transcend's small but speedy external USB 3.0 SSD.
The Transcend ESD200 isn’t setting any new records with either its performance or pocketability but nonetheless it offers genuinely high-end SSD performance in a package that is markedly smaller than a 2.5in SSD. With a price of under £105 it also...

The supercompact Transcend ESD200 portable SSD is a powerhouse when it comes to external storage performance.
The ; portable SSD is supercompact and superfast.
The drive's capacity caps at just 256GB, and its bundled software is useless.
Compact and fast, the Transcend ESD200 is an excellent storage and backup extension for your USB 3.0-enabled laptop.

Very pricey ; Gimmicky "One Touch Auto-Backup" button ; Bundled backup software is clumsy and unintuitive
The Kingston HyperX Max 3.0 has long been discontinued so its not a viable alternative to the Transcend ESD200. However, bear in mind that when it was first launched a few years ago, a comparable 256GB variant of that drive commanded a whopping US$599...
