Here's our review of Toshiba Q300 (2016) which competes with the very best SSDs out there, while also being affordable.
The Toshiba Q300 480GB (2016) SSD is cheaper than most of its competitors and yet is able to provide a fantastic all-round performance. If you're looking to upgrade or build a budget system, then the Q300 is a solid choice.

There's no reason to recommend the Toshiba Q300 over any of the alternatives.
The Toshiba Q300 is perfectly serviceable, but it isn’t competitive with alternatives from Samsung, Crucial, PNY, and others. In terms of price, fit and finish, and even such incidentals as packaging, there’s simply no reason to choose the Toshiba...

The new Toshiba Q300 is a decent solid-state drive with one problem, it's expensive at launch. Here's CNET's full review.
The Toshiba Q300 solid-state drive offers a significant speed boost to computers with traditional hard drives.
The suggested price is high and its performance is slow compared to that of other solid-state drives. It includes a relatively short three-year warranty.
Slow and expensive, you'll want to steer clear of the Toshiba Q300 until there's a big price cut.

Our review of the OCZ Trion 100 hailed it as "Bringing Toshiba to the Retail". The Trion 100 was branded as an OCZ drive, but it was almost entirely developed and manufactured by parent company Toshiba as their first non-OEM SSD. A few months later,...
From a product standpoint the Trion 100 did a good job of keeping pace with the price drops over the past several months, but neither it nor the new Q300 are sufficiently differentiated from the rest of the entry-level market. Now that Toshiba is...

If you are still running your operating system from a traditional hard drive, I want you to slap yourself in the face. Why? You are doing your computing wrong. Sure, a mechanical hard drive is great for storage, but your OS will absolutely fly with a...

* It's brought new life to my macbook! Seems quite good so far. * It's one of the cheaper SSD, especially with that capacity and comes highly recommended by the macbook community.
nothing really yet.

I run a dual boot Linux Windows 10 system; fitting the Toshiba SSD has made a huge difference to boot times. I guess any SSD would improve boot times but after a bit of research, I felt the Toshibe Q300 offered best value for money for my particular...
