Samsung's new 970 Series comes with EVO models for the mainstream and Pro models for enthusiasts and professional users. Samsung's latest NVMe SSDs come as the company is facing renewed competition from companies armed with 64-layer flash. In recent...
Highest-capacity TLC NVMe SSD on the market ; Solid performance ; Excellent software package ; Workstation-grade endurance ; Strong performance ; Excellent software package ; Class-leading endurance
Slightly slower than the 1TB 970 EVO ; Expensive ; Not as fast as expected ; High pricing at launch
This is the only 2TB 970 Series model. The performance is slightly lower than the 1TB, but you won't notice the difference. The capacity alone makes this a standout NVMe SSD. The 2TB 960 Pro is the only competitor, but it costs nearly $500 more.

The Samsung SSD 970 EVO offers an excellent blend of throughput and performance, making it the best high-end internal M.2 PCI Express SSD for most users.

A great NVMe SSD unless you regularly copy very large files, then look into WD's Black NVMe.
Affordable (relatively) NVMe drive ; Very fast until off cache ; Available in up to 2TB capacity
Slows to just over 600MBps after cache is exceeded ; 250GB version is a much slower performer
This is a tough call that’s mostly dictated on the performance differences at each capacity. In the 250GB and 500GB capacities, the WD Black NVMe has a slight edge for performance overall.

The Samsung 970 Pro is one of the fastest SSDs we’ve ever tested. It’s record-breaking in numerous benchmarks and, even when other drives are quicker, it’s never far behind.

The Samsung 970 EVO NVMe SSD is so fast that a full Windows 10 Pro install including massive updates, 20+ drivers and 20GB of software took about an hour.
The fastest NVMe SSD on the planet
You need NVMe M.2 slots to use it

If you have a motherboard that can fit one of these this makes loads of room for water cooling. Also runs as fast if not faster than other hard drives.
