Samsung's 850 Pro represents the pinnacle of the performance SSD market, but its position at the top of the heap is under threat: cheaper drives are offering decent performance for less cash, and new form factors such as PCI Express and M.2 are pushing...
Huge, hard disk-style capacity ; Excellent performance levels ; Lengthy warranty and endurance
No quicker than 850 Evo 2TB ; Pricier than 850 Evo 2TB ; No extras included
The Samsung 850 Pro combines impressive performance levels with the market’s best endurance rating and warranty. But if you don't require that level of protection, then the 2TB 850 Evo offers equivalent performance for less.

First to the 2TB barrier, but at what cost?
Huge capacity ; Fast for a SATA drive ; Mega 10 year warranty
Insanely expensive ; Outpaced by M.2 drives ; Limited appeal outside of laptops
Samsung's latest SSD puts an end to solid-state capacity limitations, but at a price both in terms of money and performance.

Samsung 850 PRO 1 TB review. Samsung 850 PRO 1 TB benchmarks
The Samsung 850 PRO arrived just too late for last year's round-up of the best SSDs, but even a year down the line it still has little serious competition in the stakes for the world's best SATA SSD. It may be left for dust by more modern PCIe drives...

Silky smooth operation as a system drive., Outstanding sequential reading and writing performance, even at very low queue depths., Outstanding 4K random writing performance, at low queue depths., Outstanding 4k random reading performance at very low,...
Nothing to mention.
As an operating system drive, the Samsung 850 Pro 1000GB SSD is pretty hard to fault. Performance is outstanding and the SSD proved to be very stable during the testing period. The new 3D V-NAND is a huge step in the right direction in my opinion....

Samsung's SSD 980 M.2 drive provides a stellar mid-tier option for new or returning fans of the company's SSDs, squeaking the most performance possible out of PCI Express 3.0 in 2021.

If you're looking for one of the best 2.5-inch SATA SSDs in terms of value and performance for the money, search no further than Samsung's SSD 870 QVO, a stellar followup to its first QLC-based outing.

Thanks in part to the latest flash-memory technology, the Samsung SSD 860 QVO offers a lot of fast storage capacity for minimal money. It's a winning internal solid-state drive for budget-minded upgraders.

The Samsung SSD 850 Pro is the first solid-state drive on the market that uses the new 3D, vertical NAND flash memory to offer ultra-high endurance, top performance, a great set of features and the all-new 2TB capacity.
The Samsung SSD 850 Pro has fast performance, high endurance -- you can write a lot of data to it before it becomes unreliable -- and its 2TB capacity is the highest on the market. The drive comes with a lot of useful features, including encryption,...
The drive is expensive compared with competing solid-state drives. The Samsung Magician software only works with Windows.
The Samsung SSD 850 Pro is one of the best standard consumer-grade solid-state drives on the market, but there are cheaper alternatives with similar performance.

If you feel the need for both maximum speed and maximum durability from a consumer-focused SSD, Samsung's SSD 850 Pro is the best choice on both fronts. But if you can live with a shorter warranty and a little less speed, good drives are available for...
