fast, died at such a young age

Settings will have to be changed when using a pre-installed version of Windows to limit any undue wear on the drive.

Settings will have to be changed when using a pre-installed version of Windows to limit any undue wear on the drive. Boot time from the system being off went from 5 minutes to 50 seconds

Drive doesn’t come with any additional software and the manufacturers site is geared towards the optical drives that they produce. A quick Google search and I was able to locate the ISO file to update the firmware

Great for home automation.

If you are looking for a drive to improve the speed of your computer, and quiet it down, this is an excellent selection.

I purchased this drive to use with my home automation computer that had a drive fail in it. I have to say this was a great choice, my computer has a fanless power supply and now a drive with no moving parts, it is very quiet. The other great thing...

amazingly fast and easy to install

If you have a mechanical drive, get this. If you have a drive from someone other than Plextor, get this.... in short get this.

This product took my machine from taking about 3 minutes to get into a usable state in windows to about 30 seconds or less. Not to mention games load so much quick and my CAD applications are now seamless

I had purchased a previous model at 128Gb's which was great but not big enough to hold all my data, this 256MB is perfect. Con was that it was not on sale

Superb SSD

Easy to install in my desktop(which has some 2.5" SSD screw holes in the drive bays), very fast performance. Installed Windows 7 to it via USB and my motherboard(P8Z77 series) automatically set it to ACHI mode.

This SSD is said to be the fastest SSD in its category, it is definitely the fastest storage device I've ever used. I am also impressed by the 5 year warranty; these two factors led me to getting this SSD
