Good quality sound but...

I must have gotten a bad one. All the other reviewers loved the thing...

Size, price, speed

The device either works great or is temporarily losing track of blocks. Some times it works great and other times I can not boot because this or that file "can not be found" (never the same file two times in a row). Some times it runs for days, other...

Plextor PX-256M5M

Bought this to use as a dedicated gaming SSD. Loads games up quick and no stuttering issues. BF4 loads in 45 sec instead of 2 min and CSGO maps load in 5 sec instead of 20. Well worth the buy when it was on sale last year.

Very fast ; Slim design ; Reliable

Excellent SSD

Excellent SSD, very fast, windows loads in seconds, my computer games load quickly as well. It's been working perfectly without a glitch for about 8 months now. I use it in my Alienware 17 laptop

RELIABLE & fast enough!

I would recommend this m-sata drive without hesitation however, Plextor use to manufacture very good hard drives now they are manufacturing very good solid state drives, you can't go wrong by picking up this unit. You get good value for money.

Very, very reliable SSD (that is the main reason why I chose it) ; Speeds are good enough for me ; Seq. Read: 492.1 MB/s Seq. Write: 399.4 MB/s ; 512k Read: 363.0 512k Write: 372.2 ; 4k Read: 21.87 4k Write: 34.95 ; 4k QD 32 Read: 300.6 4k QD 32 Write:...

Not the fastest m-sata drive around, Intel and Samsung are the leaders when it comes to speed ; Only 237GB usable after installing Windows 8.1 ; It doesn't appear to have a built-in temperature sensor but it runs cool

Awesome

I bought two of these for my Sager NP7330, which I also highly recommend. I replaced all internal drives with these, one for OS and one for storage. They have worked very smoothly and caused no problems. Have had them since August 2013.

This drive is awesome. Low power consumption when not in use (the lowest I have found), speedy read/write, and a ton of storage for a tiny footprint

Price is obviously high, but for a drive released in June/July with specs like this, it's well worth it

Great Drive

First of all, it now comes with two screws! I read the previous review that mentions no screws included and was trying hard to find those M2X3mm screws. Apparently Plextor is listening to its customers, a good sign ; Drive installed in a few minutes,...

Does not come with any instruction, manual, or even a short guide (for upgrading firmware, using tools etc)

Died within minutes of use. Hopefully just a random lemon.

Unfortunately, the drive failed in the midst of what should have been a simple cloning session and hasn't worked since. Using a an 2.5" drive adapter dock, I was able to successfully connect the drive to my Windows 8 Samsung Series 7 Ultra via USB...

Worked perfectly in the StarTech SAT2MSAT25 2.5in SATA to Mini SATA SSD Adapter enclosure. Was detected immediately when first connected to my system externally. Wish I'd gotten to do more with it than that

Failed immediately while having a drive cloned to it. Was locked, unable to be firmware-updated, initialized, formatted, or secure erased. Plextor's own PlexTools stated the drive was dead. Possibly bricked. Details below

Working very well

I run Linux on this drive and use a 2.5" SSD for Windows on my Lenovo T430s. I'm limited to SATA II due to my mSATA port, but I still get fantastic speeds when compiling CyanogenMod (about 30min per job with ccache). I am very happy with the...

Lots of space in a tiny form factor, no extra software needed for TRIM, fast drive for compiling software, detects as standard drive in my Lenovo T430s without any hassle at all
