Plextor dips into the budget SSD market with the M6S drive. But the company needs to cut its price even more for it to be competitive. Here's CNET's full review.
The ; has low power consumption and is a great performance upgrade for a computer that still runs on a regular hard drive.
Compared with other solid-state drives on the market, the M6S' performance is disappointing. It also comes with only a short three-year warranty.
With unimpressive performance that doesn't match its high price, there's no reason why you should pick the Plextor M6S over other SSDs on the market.

When compared with any consumer-grade hard drive, the Plextor M6S solid-state drive (SSD) is energy-efficient, not to mention much faster. When you stack it up against other SSDs, however, its slower performance just doesn't measure up.

Announced earlier this year at CeBIT 2014, the new Plextor M6S SSD has finally arrived on our shores. We put it through its paces to see how it fares against the current crop of mainstream SSDs.
Competitive performance ; Attractively priced ; Renown Plextor reliability ; Five-year warranty
No accessories ; Performance noticeably suffers at high queue depths
All in all, the Plextor M6S is a welcomed new entry to mainstream SSD market and it is an extremely attractive alternative to the Crucial M550, OCZ Vertex 460 and Samsung SSD 840 EVO. It provides competitive performance at the lowest price, and with a...

Good performance Value pricing
Construction quality could be better No bundled accessories
The Plextor M6S is a modern and capable SSD which should be more than enough for most people, while the M6 Pro is a slight step up for those who want just a little bit extra. The M6S is officially priced at Rs. 6,850 for 128GB, Rs. 12,300 for 256GB and...
