While Plextor hasn't seen themselves in many headlines these days, their new M6e will likely get folks talking. Indeed, many enthusiasts fondly
Plextor’s M6e 256GB blends high end performance and affordable pricing into a device that is quite unique but also narrowly targeted

Extremely simple install, amazing performance. CrystalDiskMark 3.03 pegged it as 132x faster than my 7200 rpm hard-drive (4K QD32 read at 105 MB/s, sequential read at 697 MB/s). This gain is even larger when dealing with heavily fragmented files. For...
The card itself is half-height (low-profile), but the bracket is full-size. There is no half-height bracket available, anywhere. There is no way to comfortably install this card in a half-height PC without extreme jury-rigging. In my case, I removed...

Even though it may void the warranty, I removed the SSD from the adapter bracket, and installed it into the M.2 slot in my Z97 motherboard (Asus Z97-Deluxe). Again, installed Windows without any problems. Getting outrageous speeds (same as with PCI-e...
Fast, VERY FAST ; BIOS saw it, and Windows, too ; Installed a fresh version of Windows 8.1 Pro x64 without the need for additional drivers
Voids warranty if removed from bracket ; Not a PCI-e x4 SSD, only x2, but that still beats SATA3

the 512 ddr2 cache is probably why it seems to game faster and faster
Plug and play after disk mgmt installed steam. that's all i use the drive for. the drives seems to be making my games a little faster every time i log on
added another item to the boot queue

Access time in AS SSD is 0.060ms read/0.066 ms write, so latency is good.
This SSD went into a PCIE x 2.0 x 16 slot in my Dell 730X. This SSD is recognized right away with no fuss and no special driver installation required. I reformatted this drive & installed a fresh W7/64. The drive ends up with 29GB used/209GB free. When...
None really. This is an SSD mounted on a PCIE card and so it has to be initialized upon boot. This takes 5-10 seconds and is mildly annoying

Intel Core i7-4930K @ 4.3GHz on Asus X79 Deluxe 34GB of 2400mhz memory (Corsair Dominator Platinum & G.Skill Ripjaws Z) Plextor M6e 256Gb, OCZ Vertex 4 256Gb, Samsung 840 Pro 256GB, Western Digital 1TB HDD Two EGVA GTX 780 Classified in SLI
Fast, quiet, easy to install and fits between two video cards in SLI with no problem
After installing Windows 7 64 bit and all the drivers there is only 171Gb of the 238Gb left because of the Plextor PCIe format. Windows & and all motherboard, Video, & Audio drivers do not normally take up 67Gb of SSD space

really needs half height bracket for this price
Good drive, clean built, worked like a charm
this is a half height drive, but did they include a 1/2 bracket, NO
