Plextor M6e Black Edition Review (512GB)

The M6e Black Edition makes a fast M.2 SSD available to anyone with a spare PCI-E slot

PCI-E storage is still relatively new and there are few options on the market, so elevated costs are to be expected. Compared to the standard M6e standalone M.2 drive and expansion card, the M6e Black Edition is not a terrible deal. You get a much...

Plextor M6e Black Edition PCIe 256GB Review

Today we look at the Plextor M6e Black Edition. This SSD product supports PCI Express Gen 2 x 2 and potentially delivers more performance than a simple SATA 3 capable Solid State Drive. Rated sequential speeds of the Plextor M6e Black Edition are said...

Marvell controller is equally good with incompressible and compressible data.

twice the price of high grade 250GB SATA 3 drives.

Plextor M6e M.2. SSD Review

One thing that has remained pretty constant since SSDs started to appear, is that the storage interface they connect to appears to struggle to keep pace with the performance levels of the SSD.The SATA2 interface was soon saturated by the SSDs of the...

Plextor M6e PX-AG256M6e (256GB)

The Plextor M6e PX-AG256M6e (256GB) internal solid-state drive is the fastest we've ever tested—but it'll cost you.

PCI-Express (PCIe) interface. Fastest single solid-state drive (SSD) we've tested. Five-year warranty.

Expensive. Needs to be placed well away from high-heat sources, like GPUs, in chassis.

The Plextor M6e PX-AG256M6e (256GB) makes the most sense for customers who either don't have enough SATA ports to mount another drive, or who want a single-drive solution that uses more robust NAND with significantly better performance than current...

Plextor M6e Black Edition Review

Since its introduction last year, we have been very impressed by Plextors M6 range of SSDs. Whether it be the SATA based model, or the M.2 variant (which is our go-to drive for testing that platform) the performance and stability have been top notch....

The first thing we need to note about the M6e Black Edition is how it affects existing M6 series owners, especially those who have the original M6e. Basically, at the drive level this is the same product. Same speeds, same features (including support...

Plextor M6e Review: Solid State Drive for PCI Express

We all look forward to SATA Express and M.2 interfaces expansion and appearance SSDs for these interfaces. However, we can buy a SSD for PCIe bus, Plextor have gave us such opportunity already. Is it a good choice or we should wait of introducing of...

Plextor M6e 256 GB PCI Express SSD Review: M.2 For Your Desktop

Plextor's next-gen M6e is a M.2 2280 PCIe SSD combined with a x4 PCIe adapter. You probably don't have a M.2 PCIe slot yet, but Plextor hopes their Marvell 9183 powered SSD will find a home in enthusiast systems thanks to their adapter.

Plextor M6e PCI Express SSD Review

In the last generation of SSDs one of the most impressive models we tested was from Plextor. With a competitive price, good speeds out of the box and architecture which maintained the performance over time it was an attractive purchase. It was also...

When looking at the design and build quality of the M6e we have a drive which uses quality branded components and seems to be assembled well. The LEDs could be a lttle more stylish though but that is a minor issue. Where we have a bigger problem is in...

My 1st experience with this type drive, so far all good, hope it stays that way.

Installed in machine, installed Windows 10 TP, checked firmware, setting etc., all good ; Bench marked after a day of use, right at max performance

Cool heat sink is DOWN on my install, wish it were UP so I could see it :-)
