OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB

Making the decision to upgrade to an SSD isn't difficult, but finding the "perfect" SSD is a different story thanks to the sheer amount of choice out there; sometimes even from the same vendor! Fortunately, OCZ's Vertex Turbo delivers a great blend of...

The Toshiba controller gives the venerable Vertex a tough competitor, but it isn't quite as well suited for smaller file IOPs as the Vertex is. On the flipside, the Toshiba-based SSDNow V+ does offer higher sequential file writes with large file sizes,...

OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB SSD

Just how fast does this Turbo boost your performance?

After reviewing the 60GB version of the OCZ Vertex Turbo we knew it held its own but couldn't quite match the performance results of the big dog 120/128GB competitors, and as a result we were very eager to get our hand on its Turbo sibling, especially...

OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB

Don't look for a major boost in sequential reads and writes in OCZ's new Vertex Turbo, 'cause you won't find it. Instead, look to the random write tests involving small, 4KB files. An SSD's performance here is critical to many of the things you do...

didn't last long

Love SSD's. Don't buy OCZ

fast, cool

After spending a day loading windows 7 and many applications, I let it burn in for 3 days. When I started to use it, the system locked up and I got the BSD. Then, it could not bee seen by any machine I attached it to

Read speeds were great... Mainly got it for the read speeds anyways...

Fast

Write speeds weren't nearly as high as they advertised in my laptop

Works like a charm

Stay away from Netgear, they don't seem to care about those who purchase their products.

TRIM, Hardware Garbage Collection. No need to run GC software at regular intervals. This drive won't slow down on you over time like cheaper SSD's. The OCZ site mentions idling the PC for a few hours every few weeks as that is when the hardware GC...

None, worth every penney it cost

Irritated that I waited for some better deals before I bought this drive just for the OCZ Agility to go on sale for $239 four days after I got mine in the mail. Shipping. I paid for shipping and it takes NewEgg 5 days to get it to me because they...

Performance is good, but not great. I get in Windows 7 faster and can use it instead of waiting 5 mins for it to dink around with it's startup. If the below con of it taking forever to delete a file doesn't clear up, I foresee sending it back

I don't think it's worth an upgrade for the price. When I delete files it takes forever, but that can be something I could be missing since I haven't used it a whole lot since I got it

when i first got my drive, lasted about 20 minutes, rma'ed no problem... not really interested in messing with the firmware out of sheer laziness... my speeds are soo much faster already doesn't matter ; i should probably take off an egg for the...

Specifications list lifetime warranty, not so?

Fast, low energy

Warranty listed as being lifetime limited. Hopefully by the time you read this it'll be fixed. I bought it in part because of this warranty (not unlike warranty on RAM, the other solid state memory white meat)

Great Drive - terrible rebates!

I have 2 - OCZ Vertex Turbo's, running in RAID 0. Great performance

Rebate model is the worst ; OCZ uses a 3rd Party Vendor to handle their rebates ; Literally takes 4 months to get your rebate, then you will find out, it is not a check, but a Visa Gift Card ; This whole rebate idea to trick consumers into thinking...
