Fast drive but not reliable

After building a pc from parts supplied by Ebuyer including this drive, it seemed that the boot times and windows speed ratings confimed it was a fast drive. However, after about 1 month backups of the drive started failing. Checking the drive proved...

failed within 4 months.

If you can, buy a better brand like Kingston or Crucial.

Very Fast - Now Dead

Installed this drive as a cache drive with my Asus P8Z68 Gen 3 motherboard using the Smart Response Technology.

Do NOT buy!

After 3 months use the drive has died. After some research I've found that everyone has had this problem, many of them within a shorter time frame. Shame on you OCZ.

Very Poor Reliability

I have had 3 of these - all failed - changed to ADATA - not a glitch since! Do not bother with Petrol SSDs

Also had one of these fail

Bought it for the low price as I wanted a reliable SSD over a mechanical drive (no too bothered about performance in the machine it was in).

Doomed to die?

Stuck this in a client's computer thinking it was decent £ per GB and therefore a good buy - from OCZ, a good brand... "The SSD experts".

1. Drive came without latest firmware ; 2., Drive very slow to format/configure ; 3. If you think SSD will give amazing speed...not with this drive ; 4. Drive crashed after 10 hours of use over 2 weeks ; 5. Cant return drive to newegg after claiming...

50/50 So Far

I also have an OCZ OCTANE (the higher-end version of PETROL that features the same Indilinx Everest controller but instead of unknown brand async NAND, the OCTANE has IMFT sync NAND. The OCTANE has been working great in my primary machine for over a...

Fast, relatively inexpensive for the specs

Bought parts for two identical systems. The OCZ PETROL worked perfectly in one, and isn't recognized at all by the second. BIOS hangs for a long time trying to detect/access. Tried it another system too, same result. Out-of-box failure

This drive CRASHES

Buyer Beware: Warning: if you cut out the UPC for the rebate - you cannot return it to Newegg! Beware!

Worked well before it crashed. Made it faster

It crashed after 2 days! I think this brand is not as good as the Corsair or the Crucial that I purchased before ; Warning: if you cut out the UPC for the rebate - you cannot return it to Newegg! Beware
