Not a Mini PCIe card

The NewEgg product description is wrong and needs correction especially since the product cannot be returned for a refund due to the "Limited Replacement Only Return Policy"

Don't know. Card does not fit

I purchased this for my small media PC and found that it did not fit. This is NOT a standard Mini PCIe card. A standard full length Mini PCIe card is 32x50.95mm. This one is 32x71mm. That dimension is standard among the EeePC fake Mini PCIe cards

To the person with the dell mini

10char

This is a regular MiniPCI-e card. You need what is called a "Half-Mini PCI-e" ssd. They exist, but they're kind of hard to find

Dissappointed Performance

My rig is eee 1000, with win XP installed.

64 GB is great. With 8 GB you are always looking for ways to cut down space with win xp

From the reviews I expected a significant increase in performance. Boy was I dissappointed. Even the benchmarks show the manufacturer 8 GB has better performance than this drive. Also, power consumption is way up compared to the original

One of the best mini PCI-E SSDs out there

Sequential transfer rates are almost meaningless. Most drive access done by the OS are very small reads and writes. If your drive chokes on these, your user experience *will* be poor. I'm glad I took the time to do some research and chose this SSD...

Silicon Motion S2240 controller is *far* better than the JMicron or Phison controllers used by most other brand's mini PCI-E SSDs. These other controllers lack cache and perform horribly during random writes, which leads to stuttering. None of that...

Price per GB is still very high ; MLC Flash memory, but that's really unavoidable for a 64GB drive of this form factor ; Setting up and maintaining an SSD for best performance an longevity has a bit of a learning curve for those used to rotating...
