i saw it in a crystal ball this type of drive would come to an end. and so comes to an end the mini notebooks. with the debut of the i-pad short supply of this module will be near. in the next few years i see the laptop disappearing as cloud computing...
i guess i got lucky when i picked the last of the 16 gb of this type. it is a much needed improvement from the factory speeds are NOTICEABLE

Don't know. Card does not fit
I purchased this for my small media PC and found that it did not fit. This is NOT a standard Mini PCIe card. A standard full length Mini PCIe card is 32x50.95mm. This one is 32x71mm. That dimension is standard among the EeePC fake Mini PCIe cards

This is a regular MiniPCI-e card. You need what is called a "Half-Mini PCI-e" ssd. They exist, but they're kind of hard to find

My rig is eee 1000, with win XP installed.
64 GB is great. With 8 GB you are always looking for ways to cut down space with win xp
From the reviews I expected a significant increase in performance. Boy was I dissappointed. Even the benchmarks show the manufacturer 8 GB has better performance than this drive. Also, power consumption is way up compared to the original

Sequential transfer rates are almost meaningless. Most drive access done by the OS are very small reads and writes. If your drive chokes on these, your user experience *will* be poor. I'm glad I took the time to do some research and chose this SSD...
Silicon Motion S2240 controller is *far* better than the JMicron or Phison controllers used by most other brand's mini PCI-E SSDs. These other controllers lack cache and perform horribly during random writes, which leads to stuttering. None of that...
