Good drive for desktop or laptop probably overkill, Great entry budget Server drive expect to replace in 3-4-yrs with normal use. Don't use on SQL or heavy write server loads. Intel 3500/3700 for that.
For the other reviewer I felt I needed to clarify for newegg users. 1. The KC300 SSDs contain Toshiba 19nm ToggleFlash MLC chips 2. They are high endurance drives with 3 DRPD x 3yrs 3. They are fully RAID supported and compatible. (I have 5 in a raid 5...
The cost, MTFB should be higher,

Got this to upgrade my old Dell Latitude D830 Linux laptop. Same size as my old HD but so much faster, of course. The enclosure comes in handy to transfer data from the old HD to the new drive and also to have some additional storage if needed. Super...

Cheap, decent speed. My netbook is quite fast for everyday use.
Every now and then, I have tried to boot out of hibernation and instead got a message saying that my computer cannot boot from the hard drive. Sometimes taking the battery out fixes it, other times opening up the laptop and removing the drive from the...

I would have speced out the E50 or E100 series drives had it been apparent these were not truly enterprise grade. Be warned when specing the E series of SSDs, they must be run in a RAID environment or you will need to change your system's settings to...
It worked well for about 3 months in a RAID 1 (mirrored) Intel Matrix/Rapid Storage environment.
Newegg please remove the "Enterprise" terminology on the KC series of drives, as the KC series drives are NOT enterprise grade. They are desktop/notebook SSD's with DuraWrite and Enterprise SMART technology but that is all. Used the KC300/60G just for...

I'm just running a home lab server off the 3 drive RAID 5. I don't imagine power loss to be a major problem as I'm only running about 30 VMs. I had previously used a group of standard Seagate SATA SSDs and the RAID keeps dropping. I figured that with...
Supports RAID - which I do not recommend trying with regular SATA SSDs. Quick responses from tech support.
I contacted Kingston support before install to make sure RAID was supported. Response: "The drives will work in a RAID configuration but we advise you not to use these drives in an enterprise environment. RAID 0 or 1 would be OK. But if you plan to use...

Feel free to remove this review when you re-categorize this as a desktop ssd.
Looks like a fine desktop ssd.
I did not order this, as it is miscategorized. This drive is for use when you want detailed smart monitoring. It is not an enterprise class server drive, and probably not mlc, which is generally what people mean when they say "enterprise ssd". I could...

It's a good SSD, it is NOT enterprise quality.
It's a good SSD, I put it in an external enclosure instead of using it where I originally planned.
I bought this drive to put in a server I was building but now that I get the package here and read the back it says specifically NOT for use in servers. I deducted an egg for misrepresenting this particular product.
