Can Crucial's dirt-cheap MX100 SSD take the fight to expensive competitors?
Phenomenal price ; Good large read speeds ; 9.5mm adapter included
Falters in other benchmarks ; Mediocre endurance level ; Three-year warranty
The MX100’s endurance rating of 72TB is decidedly average – half as much as the Samsung 850 Pro. Many other drives also promise greater longevity, although most consumers shouldn’t be concerned unless they’re running lots of heavy workloads.

Let us summarise the most important positive and negative points below: There’s not much to be said about the Crucial MX100, as the numbers in the review are saying almost everything that you need to know for the 512GB MX100 SSD. The MX100 is very...

Remarkable price point per GB, Strong levels of performance for the budget market, Well known vendor, 3 year warranty
Performance can fluctuate as the drive volume fills
For a long time, the difference between the budget and high performance ends of the SSD market have been rather spread out and when you then look at the drive capacities that are available compared to the price, to get 512GB of fast storage at this...

The short summary is that the MX100 builds on the same architecture as the M500 and M550. The only fundamental difference is the NAND inside as the controller is the same Marvell 88SS9189 silicon as found inside the M550. The 9189 is a minor upgrade...
Shortly put, the MX100's task is to replace the M500 and it does that brilliantly. While the MX100's main goal is to lower the price by using smaller lithography NAND, it also provides a minor increase in performance over the M500 and offers the same...

Oh wow! The Crucial MX100 is a truly awesome SSD. It is not only fast, but also extremely affordable, making it the cheapest high-end drive on the market. When I first heard about the MX100, I expected it to be a crippled drive, designed to meet the...

Crucial has dropped the price per gigabyte of SSD storage below the $0.5 mark and it is not a sale of old products. We're talking about a promising new model with high performance, excellent features and good reliability. What's the hitch? Let's find...

Switching your PC or laptop's hard drive from a traditional spinning disk to an SSD massively improves its responsiveness, but you don't have to splash your cash on the absolute best of the best to get there. Crucial's MX100 SSD services the mainstream...
Crucial’s MX100 gives you the lion’s share of the responsiveness and transfer rate improvements of the best SSDs on the market, with only a small sting of the accompanying price tag. Even with the higher overall price per gigabyte of SSDs versus...
