17" 2.8Ghz MacBook Pro Rocks...

 

Purchased the SSD and 8GB of memory from Newegg.. have my machine maxed out and faster then I expected...very pleased with Newegg. now I have a notebook that should last me some time...

Purchased SSD when price was $609. No problem installing it, really makes a difference in boot times and application launch times, it's like having a new MBP ; Split the drive in 1/2 for Mac OS X and Windows 7 64-bit. Both OS's are very fast

Drive Died

 

I am currently getting a replacement through Crucial. I guess this technology is not ready for prime time. Make sure you have a backup plan.

The drive performed well while it was working

It died after about 40 days of use
