Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive

I would not recommend this SSD. Crucial seems to be having issues with this model.

I can't find much to like about his product.

I thought Crucial was a solid brand, so I went with this SSD. It failed after a couple months. I decided it was a fluke and purchased the same model again. That one failed in less than 6 months. Based solely upon my experience, I will never purchase...

random boot screen freezes

I have this as my boot drive along side a 1.5 tb HDD. This drive allows my computer to boot in less than half the time of my 3 gbps HDD.

I get random boot failures, the boot screen will freeze as the windows logo is coming up. Usually doesn't happen more than 2-3 times in a row.

After 18 months, firmware bug made me pull it

May be Window's fault but some incompatibility between the latest version of microsoft NET software and the firmware on this drive caused the PC to shut down after almost exactly 1 hour every time. Google Crucial M4 PC crash 1 hour and you will see...

Good value, worked reasonably well until firmware bug cropped up 1 wk ago

Awesome SSD

I've been using it for 14 months now and it's as fast as day one. Will buy a second one when they go cheaper.

Very fast and reliable. Comes with mounting bracket and cable.

Works perfect.

Another reason im going to support Crucial from now on is they are actually a Idaho company (Micron). Works great so far but should it fail ill report back with that info. I see alot of people complaining about failures or formatting. You SHOULD expect...

Works great so far! Very fast drive quicker then Vertex 3 ive done client builds with. Boot time from On button to win7 is 14-15sec. Very impressive my Vertex 3 drives never did it that quick.

Great item!

Intel i5-3570k 16GB G.SKILL Sniper Series 1866 Crucial 128GB SSD (boot drive) Western Digital 1TB (storage drive) ASRock Z77 Extreme4 EVGA SuperClocked+ GeForce GTX 680 CM Hyper 212 Evo CM Storm Series Trooper ATX Full Tower

This SSD is fast and boots windows in about 6 seconds. The price and size seems pretty good. Came with its own bracket to install. Came with Sata cable as well.

None so far

1 year, no issues

I use this as an SSD cache. Yes, it is large for this, but I wasn't sure if I would want it as another drive instead. I wanted a bigger one in case I changed my mind. I don't know how it compares to other drives on the benchmarks, but it hasn't crapped...

No failures since day 1

None to report

Failed within months

This is the 3rd Crucial M4 SSD that has failed on me. I've used them ini three different machines - one laptop and two different desktops. I'm back to mechanical hard drives until SSD's prove themselves.

Worked fast while it lasted.

Failed like a brick in less than a year.

Fantastic Complimentary Hard Drive

Great complimentary drive for hosting the OS, if you want it to be your primary drive I would go bigger (500GB+).

Works really well. I use it to host my OS and it takes the drag out of Windows. Particularly upon start up and shut down.

Prices went down on SSD's, but at a certain capacity level the price is still to high. So I would say that the price would be the major negative.
