Hi-Speed Chase: Corsair P128 vs. Three Intel SSDs

Solid State Drives (SSD) are no longer something unusual or extraordinary. Now they little by little take over the market. Today we are going to compare three SSD solutions from Intel including X25-E on fast SLC memory versus Corsair P128 using new...

It is good that solid state drives have made their way from early samples to mature market products. They have got rid from most of their childhood diseases that used to plague early models of flash-based drives such as low speed of sequential...

Great transfer rates. I installed windows 7 without any hitch. Boots in about 17 sec to run state. Have had a problem with it yet

Great Product But...

I must say.. I truly expected corsair to want to work with me to resolve this little bug or to get the process pushed along but nope. What a shame...

This drive is a nice drive.. It works well alone and in raid 0 and will give you the speed you crave

Stay away from this drive AT ALL COSTS IF you have a raid card ; I purchased 8 of these ssd's for raid 0 and i have been in a world of hurt for the past week trying to get these drives to work ; They utilize a marvell controller and that controller...

best in class

i love these. i hope corsair notice what a sweet drive they have on their hands, as their ssd forums are a bit lacking.

superb performance. 2x 128gb easily hit 1800+ in as-ssd ; does not throttle/drop performance when using incompressible data ; a total gem of an ssd

none

Update to prior post

Great reviews, runs fast in my Asus laptop as expected.

This is a follow up to the previous post with the drive not working in the Dell 15R. Dell support said the 15R won't support SSD drive, are you kidding me ; I also had a problem with the serial number on the drive and Newegg denying the replacement....

No issues with this drive. If you do have to send in a replacement, make sure Newegg looks at both labels for the Serial Number, put a not in the box ; I did notice some delays, but I think that was windows acting buggy. Disabled windows index and...

Amazing

Previously I had purchased 2 other SSDs that were running on SandForce controllers. I must say they ran faster than these SSDs, but the Sandforce controller is very unreliable/unstable. I ran into daily BSOD along with random system restarts. Although...

This SSD is my hero. I have 2 of these SSDs in RAID0. They run smoking fast. EXTREMELY reliable. Compared to many other SSDs the Corsair Performance Pro is using a Marvell controller making these guys extremely more dependable than the Sandforce...

As of current I have no problems. I have been running these guys constantly since I purchased them. I have not experienced any BSOD(Blue Screens of Death)

Didn't work with my laptop

Careful with the RMA process, make sure you get the same serial number on the drive as the one on the box.

Good reviews on the technical websites

This could be the Dell laptop I put this in that wasn't compatiable, but this didn't work in a Dell 15R ; MAJOR PROBLEM: I returned this to Newegg to get a replacement. They said the serial number on the box and the one on the drive didn't match, so...

Excellent Drive

Excellent real world performance, very stable (unlike certain sandforce based drives, ocz hmm...) ; Includes mounting bracket for 3.5 enclosure

Just a few $$ more then other competing products ; In my mind stability is worth it
