SSD Battles: Corsair X128 vs. Solutions on JMicron Chip

At this time SSD performance is determined by the controllers they are built on and firmware versions they use. We are already very well familiar with SSDs on Intel, Indillinx and Samsung controllers. Today time has come to talk about the solutions...

This is going to be a joyless conclusion. The widely available SSDs based on the JMicron controller can only disappoint you with their performance, especially if compared with alternative products. We can only recommend them if your SSD is going to...

Not bad, but scary

The main reason I only give this drive 3 eggs is because there have been a lot of failures and a freind had one that failed after only a month, but mine has been working for over a year, plus there still is no TRIM support for this drive.

Very fast drive, stays cool, uses very little energy

Price is still far to high for its size, still no TRIM support, Win 7 64bit see's this drive as 119GB not 128GB

Fast but Unreliable

I confirmed that the ssd is indeed what failed after testing it out in multiple systems and with multiple setting. I would recommend a different ssd or better yet, a 1 tb hdd. The reliability, price and storage capacity of a 1tb hdd versus this is well...

This drive is blazing fast and there is usually no stuttering

This drive is UNRELIABLE! What a joke, why would you shell out this much for an ssd? For the speed and reliability. To my horror this drive failed after only about a year of regular use. I've never had a drive fail on me so fast. Don't be fooled about...

Several Dead Drives

I've been using corsair drives exclusively for myself and all of my clients systems needing ssd's. I've purchased extreme, nova, and performance series drives. It's troubling that I have just exceeded a 50% failure rate with the extreme series....

Very fast, stutter free performance

Obviously has a problem with high failure rates

Incredibly fast

As others have said, incredibly fast. I use 2 of these in RAID 0 for my Windows 7 boot drive and if it weren't for the bios post time I think everything would load in 3 seconds. As they are now, the entire system takes 19-20 seconds to boot to the OS...

If I had to list a con it would definitly be the price but you aren't going to find a similar spec'ed drive for much less
