The A-DATA S599 is a solid-state drive with the older SATA 3 Gbps interface, available in capacities from 40GB to 256GB.
The A-DATA S599 64GB is large enough as a boot drive for Windows PCs, or could be used to speed up and quieten down a laptop. To stay competitive against the likes of Corsair’s Force Series 3, for example, it needs to drop its price by at least £30 in...

It would be fair to say that ADATA aren't known as one of the more established SSD brands however they have had a range of SandForce powered units in retail for some time now. Today we are testing their 256GB SSD and will be putting it through many...
Kitguru says: An excellent size, matched by great all round read and write performance. The price is good too.

The Adata S599 128Gb SSD uses the much talked about SandForce SF-1222 controller. The drive has a total capacity of 128Gb and offers a maximum of 280 MB/s read speed, 270 MB/s write speed and an impressive 50,000 IOPS

At nearly 10 times the price of a normal HDD, the ADATA S599 SSD is surely for early adopters. The performance benefits of SSD technology are currently more in access and seek times than in actual speed. However the ADATA S599 is lighter, noiseless and...
Very fast seek times, Very light weight, Low power consumption, and running temperature, Supports wear-leveling and TRIM
Expensive

At the moment A-DATA's S599 128 GB is the cheapest 128 GB Sandforce SSD available on the market. It uses 8 GB of overprovisioning, whereas many other drives use 16 GB. Our testing shows that this does not have any negative effect on performance at all,...
Low price, Higher performance than other Sandforce drives, Excellent synthetic performance, Supports TRIM, 3 Year warranty, Nice looking, rugged metal case, Includes 2.5 inch bracket
128 GB label might be misleading, actual capacity 120 GB, 111.79 GB usable., Real-life performance not as impressive as synthetic

A-DATA updates their flagship 500 Series; bringing new firmware features, accessories and capacity.

Limited warranty and technical support, Lacks integrated USB Mini-B data connection, Not 3rd-Generation SATA-6.0 compliant, No public firmware updates available
Although the rating and final score mentioned in this conclusion are made to be as objective as possible, please be advised that every author perceives these factors differently at various points in time. While we each do our best to ensure that all...

Newer purchase ADATA SSD again.
Worked for a while
Installed in a computer that was started for one day each month ; Worked fine for a year. Then we where lucky to get the drive to work for 1 to 2 minutes and then freeze ; Now it is dead, with less than 100 hours on it
Consumer review (newegg.com)
It died about three months after I got it. I'm not entirely sure what happened but I booted up my laptop, noticed an unusually long POST and when I got in to the BIOS, the drive wasn't coming up at all. I connected it to my home gaming box's external...
Fast, simple, worked without a fuss ; Made my work laptop insanely fast and was just great to use ; 128GB is about enough for my needs; I have a regular 320GB drive for data but applications were on the SSD and everything flew
A bit expensive
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I bought this to be my boot drive. Installed win 7 ult x64 in about 10 minutes and sp1 in about the same time. Moved my wei to 7.5 since this drive is the slowest component in my system. Just remember not to defrag your ssd or you will degrade...
Metal housing ; Can be flashed w/o damaging files ; Comes with 3.5" adaptor
It wasn't free
