Misfit Shine 2 review

Does Misfit's life-tracking coin still shine?

Stylish, minimalist design ; Waterproof ; Particularly good at tracking swimming and sleep ; Battery lasts for six months

Lacks accuracy compared to trackers equipped with GPS and HR sensors ; No screen means limited use for notifications

A stylish way to track swimming and sleep, but so-so for everything else

Misfit Speedo Shine 2 Review: In Depth

Misfit Shine 2 Review: This ultra-slim and light fitness tracker from Speedo is pleasingly versatile. Here's our full Misfit Shine 2 review.

Skinny and light ; Great battery life ; Versatile ; Good for swimmers

Not too durable ; Limited feedback ; Feature-light

The Shine 2 is definitely geared towards swimmers, as you’d expect from Speedo. That super-light waterproof design, lap tracking and excellent battery life makes it desirable for anyone who regularly hits their local pool, and the flexibility is a...

Misfit Shine 2 review: The nicest fitness tracker you'll ever lose

It glows, it vibrates...and you'll probably never keep it on your wrist. A bad fit keeps the Shine 2 from being recommendable.

Clean-looking, well-designed app: works with iOS and Android phones; improved Bluetooth syncing; waterproof for swimming or showering; internal battery lasts six months and can be replaced; automatically tracks sleep and adds vibrations for silent...

The included strap and clip are terrible: They don't securely hold the Shine 2, nearly guaranteeing it'll be lost sooner or later. No heart rate tracking; LED lights show daily progress and the time, but can't show other data.

The Shine 2 is a decent fitness tracker that's waterproof and vibrates, dogged by a fatal flaw: it just won't stay on our wrist.

Track your steps, calories, sleep and swimming activity with this £80 activity monitor that offers vibration for notifications too.

Misfit Shine 2 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Misfit Shine 2 is a little disc-like fitness tracker that can be worn in the supplied wrist strap or slipped into a pocket. We liked the design of the original Shine, but had concerns about the accuracy of the tracking. Has Misfit improved both...

Misfit Shine 2 review: More than just a fitness tracker

Misfit's second generation fitness tracker adds call and text notifications, but it isn't perfect

Fitness trackers are ten a penny these days, but it’s to Misfit’s great credit that it stands out from the crowd. The Shine 2 is attractive and comfortable to wear, tracks all the things you’d expect it to, is waterproof and has a great battery life.

Misfit Shine 2 Swimmer's Edition

The Misfit Shine 2 Swimmer's Edition makes it easy to automatically count your laps, as well as all your activity. It's a good looking device for swimmers, but not the only one.

Swim time and laps easily tracked. Includes smartphone notification alerts. Supports a range of activities. Elegant design. Multiple ways to wear. Comfortable and lightweight. Good app. Reliable metrics. Can control supported smart devices.

Unattractive wrist strap. No true display; LED indicator lights only. Requires mobile app. Doesn't include pregnancy or cycle-tracking options.

Comparisons and Conclusions Among trackers for swimmers, the Shine 2 is a fine option, albeit a simple one. I encourage you to weigh it head-to-head against the Misfit Ray. The Ray is far and away my favorite tracker of the year from a fashion...

Misfit Shine 2 review: A slim fitness tracker with loads of features

Resolution season is upon us! The Misfit Shine 2 and Misfit Shine 2 Speedo Edition are great options to help you meet your fitness goals in the new year.

The Misfit Shine 2 is very thin and light. It's comfortable to wear, and does a good job of tracking your activities. The app is easy to use an offers quite a few basic and advanced features.

You'll want to be sure you get the newer style of strap, since the old version caused me to lose my first tracker. Some may not like the lack of a digital display for the time, or that the clock can be a few minutes off since it rounds to the nearest 5...

I said at the very beginning that there are loads of different fitness trackers to choose from. The Misfit Shine 2 offers a very slim design packed full of features that will cover the needs of most. If you’re a swimmer, the upgrade to the Speedo...
