TomTom Touch review

TomTom takes on Fitbit

Body composition sensors ; Waterproof design

Not many phone notifications ; Pricey end of fitness trackers

TomTom is taking on Fitbit with its new Touch fitness tracker and with a slim design as well as interesting body composition tech it looks like it may be able to stand its ground against the best.

What percentage pork scratching are you? Press here to find out

Can tell you just how fat you are ; Shower-proof ; Low-profile

Tiny display ; Touch to wake ; Lots of screens

A clever new way to keep track of your fitness, but there’s not enough else to make this a tracker worthy of your wrist

TomTom Touch review

TomTom Touch review: In need of training

Although the TomTom Touch is clever in some respects, it isn't the greatest fitness tracker

Reading back over this review, I wonder if I’m being too harsh, assuming I must have missed something. And yet, repeated attempts to get to the bottom of seemingly obvious omissions confirm that, yep, they just aren’t there.

TomTom Touch review

The TomTom Touch is a decent fitness tracker, but it's held back by a few issues.

Decently accurate ; Body fat tracking ; Easy-to-use interface

Lots of syncing issues ; Clunky app ; Not waterproof

The TomTom Touch is a decent fitness tracker, but it’s held back by a few issues. The app has a layout that takes getting used to and suffers from serious syncing issues, while the tracker’s rubber wristband itself can get uncomfortable. Still, as one...

TomTom Touch

The TomTom Touch is a fitness tracker with a unique body composition feature, but it's hindered by a lackluster, finicky display and some inaccurate results in testing.

Measures body composition. Slim design. Swappable bands.

Inaccurate heart rate measurements in testing. Display is tough to see in sunlight. Occasionally unresponsive touch screen.

While the body composition feature is a nice addition, the TomTom Touch would be better served by nailing the basics. Given the finicky touch screen and the inaccurate heart rate measurements, you're better off with the Fitbit Charge 2. It only costs...

TomTom Touch Review: Meet the Fat Tracker

Knowing the percentage of your body that consists of fat or muscle can give you a more well-rounded look at your fitness level. If you're specifically working to lose body fat or build muscle, and want to track your activities and sleep, the TomTom...

Slim design ; Touch screen ; Adds a new dimension to fitness tracking

Finicky body-composition sensor ; Questionable accuracy ; Doesn't track many activities automatically ; TomTom MySports app has confusing layout

Unless you're specifically focused on losing fat or building muscle, the Fitbit Charge 2 is probably a better option for a relatively inexpensive fitness tracker.

TOMTOM Touch Fitness Tracker - Large, Black

Love the heart rate monitor - really encourages you to keep healthy

Terrible strap design. VERY easily comes unclipped. Such a basic design fault
