Samsung Galaxy Watch Active Review | Trusted Reviews

We wrap the new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active around our wrists to test out its new design and smart new fitness features at launch.

Good data-rich exercise tracking ; Looks petite and expensive ; Good smartwatch feature breadth (if not depth) ; Very bright screen

Few useful apps ; Battery life is only passable ; Misses out on Samsung's control bezel

A worthy successor to the Samsung Gear Sport that boasts an attractive design and worthwhile new features for the price.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review: finally a true Apple Watch rival

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is small, stylish, and affordable

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review

Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active is smaller than the company's previous premium watches, and it's beautiful too.

High-end design Competitive price Lots of features

Lacks rotating bezel No LTE variant Limited storage

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active takes a lot of what was great about the company’s standard smartwatch, pushes it all into a smaller package and trims some of the top-end features we’ve come to love. Given that the Galaxy Watch Active is a lot cheaper,...

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review: Slim, sporty, lightweight

The original Active has been succeeded by the Galaxy Watch Active 2, but is the older model still worth considering? Here's our review.

Lovely design ; Great build quality ; Good price ; Easy to use interface ; Good fitness tracking options

Bixby isn't strong ; No rotating bezel ; No LTE model ; Tizen OS still lacks apps ; Active 2 has more features

Think of this as a smaller, sportier version of the Galaxy Watch. Thanks to a fabulous display, good battery life for its size, easy-to-use interface, and premium finish, it's up there with some of the best-looking smartwatches on the market. But with...

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active

The Galaxy Watch Active is a cheaper, slimmer smartwatch with GPS and full waterproofing. It's still best when used with a Samsung phone though. Here's our full review

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review: Basic doesn't mean bad

The Galaxy Watch Active is basically the flagship Galaxy Watch boiled down into a basic, sport-friendlier body. It loses the rotating bezel, has a much smaller face and shorter battery life, but otherwise offers everything you'd expect from Samsung's...

Light comfortable fit ; Bright colorful screen

Bland design ; Hard to navigate on such a small screen without rotating bezel

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active offers a wealth of smartwatch and fitness tracker features in a versatile and attractive design.

Lightweight, stylish design. Lots of functionality for the price.

Thick, stationary bezel. Shorter battery life than Galaxy Watch.

While the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active doesn't have any breakthrough features that set it apart from the Apple Watch or the Fitbit Versa, it costs significantly less than the Apple Watch and is arguably more attractive than the Versa. That said, the...

Galaxy Watch Active review: Great and half the price of the Apple Watch

Samsung's latest smartwatch loses the rotating bezel we loved on the original Galaxy Watch, but it has just as many features and at a fraction of the price.

The Galaxy Watch Active's lightweight and simple design make it better for working out and wearing to bed than previous models. It packs in health and fitness features at a lower price than its competitors and works on both Android and iOS.

It's missing the rotating bezel we loved on previous Samsung watches and comes in only one size with no LTE option. The blood-pressure monitoring is half baked at best. Samsung's Health app doesn’t make it easy to locate all your data.

The Galaxy Watch Active is a great smartwatch and fitness tracker at a reasonable price, but don’t count on actual blood-pressure monitoring any time soon.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review: less fun but still a good time

The rotating bezel is missed, but this is still a very good smartwatch.

Comfortable, lightweight design ; Reliable battery life ; Good fitness-tracking features

Bixby is a poor voice assistant ; Clumsy to use with non-Samsung phones ; Fewer third-party apps than other smartwatches

The new Galaxy Watch Active from Samsung lacks the company’s signature rotating bezel, but it still strikes a very appealing mix of features for the price.
