Hands-on at CES 2014: Razer unveils its fitness tracker and smartwatch hybrid

If Razer can make a design that’s as stylish as the Fuelband or the Fitbit Force, gain the support from app developers and keep the price well under $100 which is the aim, the Nabu could really be a wearable game-changer.

Razer Nabu SmartBand review

A smartband that features a discreet screen

Bottom screen for private info ; Works with iOS, Android ; Really inexpensive dev version

Still in beta form ; Screen lacks color ; Lots of competition

The top public-facing display may be gone, but Nabu's private message screen on the bottom and serious drive for third-party apps makes it one to look out for this year.

Razer Nabu: We eye-up gaming laptop maker’s wearable tech band - Pocket-lint

Wearable tech was the promise of 2013, but one that failed to truly deliver. In 2014 it looks as though every manufacturer wants to be the one to crack

Razer Nabu review

Razer's clever Nabu aces the basics with a sleeker design and lower price than its competitors.

Razer Nabu

The Razer Nabu brings a display to the Nabu X, but it lacks features compared with other fitness trackers.

Useful display. Good battery life.

Few features. Bulky. Tough-to-press button. Attracts dust.

Conclusions The Razer Nabu adds a display to the Nabu X for an extra $50, but I wouldn't say the display adds an additional $50 of utility. In addition, the higher price makes it more difficult for the Nabu to compete against an actual fitness tracker...

Razer's smart Nabu activity tracker is back with an improved design

Razer was ahead of its time with its first Nabu smartband. The activity tracker debuted in early 2014 and was one of the first to include smartphone notifications. Production problems resulted in a limited release and the company eventually moved on to...

Preorders begin September 15 for $100. International pricing and release information wasn't announced, but the US price converts to about £65 in the UK and AU$140 in Australia. Razer will begin shipping the redesigned Nabu in October.

Razer Nabu Review: Smart Features Made Stupid

"For gamers, by gamers" is the kind of motto that sells liquid-cooled spec-obsessed towers, headsets, rumbling lounge chairs, and ergonomic mice with more buttons than a double-breasted suit. Razer, however, has these words stamped into the back of its...
