Garmin Swim

Garmin's Swim is a must-have fitness gadget for anyone who takes their swimming seriously.

Nearly automatic operation - just press start and swim ; Wireless Garmin ANT USB adapter included ; Lots of parameters recorded, including stroke and SWORF

Length detection needs smooth, unbroken swimming ; Full manual is download only ; No tracking for pools under 20 yards long

Garmin Swim review

The Garmin Swim is great for tracking swimming, but not much else

Accurate swimming tracking ; Records plenty of data ; Easy to use

Not the most stylish ; Doesn't track any other activities ; Confusing desktop app

There's room for improvement, but for serious swimmers, this is the only device worth owning.

Exactly what I wanted

I needed a watch that would help count distance in meters and lengths and this does exactly that. Its display is clear even with goggles on. You can switch between a large display in meters or lengths or time etc. I have only had the watch a week but...

Good watch for swimming

So I've had this watch for over 2 years and thought I'd finally get around to writing a review. Initially I had some issue with it sometimes saying I'd done a couple of breaststrokes during my front crawl swim, but a firmware update I did early on...

Poor in so many ways

Biggest problem was when I changed the "user changeable" battery. Looked all right on dry land, but flooded when I used it. It was outside the one year warranty, and Garmin refused to do anything about it. The other problem is the website which...

really works

this low profile swim watch marries both the simple normal functions of an everyday watch with more than enough accurate data gathering to take your training to another level

Works well

I have used several different devices to measure the number of lengths I do and this is easily the best. Once set up, and this is not difficult, you tell the watch how big the pool is and off you go. It has no problem in accurately counting the lengths...

What a let down, the watch is inaccurate...

So I have put off writing this review until I have had the chance to really test it properly and was hoping it would redeem itself, unfortunately that is not the case. I have used the watch for the last five weeks and every week it has miscounted the...

Generally Good

As a regular swimmer, predominantly in a 25m pool I have found it useful - particularly detecting what stroke you are doing! It has on one length detected back stroke instead of breastroke, but that may have been my technique. Open water swims I am yet...
