Fitbit Zip review

The Fitbit Zip wireless tracking device gets more colourful and cheaper

Small ; compact design ; Improved app support ; Secure fit

Lacklustre display ; No altimeter tracking ; Doesn't track all sports

Fitbit Zip

The pedometer is nothing new. It's a gadget that's been around for many years, keeping track of steps taken and giving you an idea of how active you've been during that day. We like the Fitbit Zip. Priced at £49.99, it is more expensive than some...

Small, simple, display is ideal for the task, weatherproof

Pretty much nothing

We like the Fitbit Zip. Priced at £49.99, it is more expensive than some pedometers out there, but then you're buying good design, accuracy and into a wider system, rather than just something that measures your steps. As such, it's a nice device for...

Fitbit Zip review

It has been almost four years since the Fitbit Zip was first released, and yet the affordable tracker still remains one of our favorites. That's because for $60, £50 or AU$80 depending on your locale ( even less if you shop around ), you get a tracker...

Affordable; tracks steps, distance and calories burned; up to six months of battery life.

It doesn't track sleep or stairs climbed.

The Fitbit Zip is still a great entry-level tracker for people that don't want to wear a wristband.

Fitbit Zip review

Powered by a cheap coin battery that lasts for months rather than days, the Zip comes in a variety of fun colours and clips onto your clothing, or can be dropped into a pocket. The LCD display means you can check on progress without firing up the app on...

The FitBit Zip is ideal if you want to join the life-logging brigade but can't or won't spend £80 upwards on an activity tracker. It's basic, but unless you really want sleep tracking or the stair-tracking features of Fitbit's other trackers, it's a...

Fitbit Zip review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Fitbit Zip is a small, cheap, clip on fitness tracker. It doesn't have a sleep function or the email and calendar alert features of the higher-priced models, but it does the basics: logging steps, distance and calories burned data with...

FitBit Zip review

Get fit with this wireless activity monitor, which syncs with Mac, iPhone or iPad

Ideal for those who need gentle encouragement to get more active; can take account of different types of activity

Ironically, the potential for stat analysis on the dashboard could actually increase your screentime

FitBit is ideal for the moderately active person, who doesn't want to be nagged about skipping Zumba class, but needs encouragement to be a little more active in their everyday life. Many people will find they're already doing quite a lot already.

Fitbit Zip

Find yourself looking at your waistline in the mirror, mourning those extra pounds that have slowly slipped on over the years? You could go on a crash diet, shovelling down nothing but Rice Krispies for months on end, but they say the best changes are...

The Fitbit Zip, despite its name, isn’t for fitness freaks. It’s useless for cyclists, and largely so for runners. But that low price tag and long battery life might just be enough to get couch potatoes up off the sofa. It’s a tiny, persistent gizmo...

Fitbit Zip wireless activity tracker

The tiny Fitbit Zip is a great motivational tool and wireless syncing is effortless

Battery doesn't need recharging ; Wireless Bluetooth syncing ; Great motivational tool

Doesn't count stairs climbed ; Monochrome screen isn't backlit ; Background sync through iOS is hit & miss

The FitBit Zip's tiny design, long-lasting battery and wireless synchronising capabilities make it a great "clip and forget" device that should keep you motivated. However, the non-backlit screen and the lack of an altimeter to count stairs climbed are...
