The Apple Watch Ultra 2 strikes a great balance between powerful outdoor features and being an excellent smartwatch companion.
Top screen ; Excellent sports tracking ; The best Apple Watch
Fitness tracking feels dated ; Lack of performance analysis ; Mapping rolling out slowly
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 strikes a great balance between powerful outdoor features and being an excellent smartwatch companion. It’s also just an Apple Watch power user’s dream, and offers all the latest gesture features, a gorgeous titanium build and,...

Apple's second-generation rugged watch might look familiar, but there are plenty of upgrades under the hood
Faster processor ; Brighter display ; New gesture control (Double Tap) ; Offline Siri ; Carbon Neutral product (when paired with certain straps)
Might be hard to justify coughing up this much money on a yearly basis
If you liked the first iteration, you’ll love Apple’s latest rugged wearable offering. It’s prettier, smarter and faster than before without any price increase. A no-brainer upgrade for those who had an older Apple Watch and were thinking about...

Is the Apple Watch Ultra 2 a worthy upgrade? The answer depends on what you're upgrading from, but it's certainly the best Apple Watch yet
Bright screen ; Slick operating system ; Great for tracking sports & workouts
Works exclusively with iPhones ; Not as many fitness metrics as the competition ; Topographical maps cover US only
With so few user-perceptible upgrades over the original, it isn’t worth upgrading to the Ultra 2. However, for everyone else, it’s a phenomenal smartwatch with very decent battery life.

This year's Apple Watches get a new processor and some interesting new features, but does that mean you should upgrade? #apple #applewatchultra2 #applewatchseries9
The TL;DR version: The updates to this year’s watches may not be the most exciting, but they do improve the Apple Watch user experience in meaningful ways.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 isn't all that different from the first Apple Watch Ultra. But it's still a phenomenal smartwatch. We explain why in our full review.
Titanium design is still gorgeous Stunning, super bright display Unmatched performance Siri is better than ever Twice as much storage Excellent battery life WatchOS 10 is fantastic
Double Tap is underutilized Virtually identical to last year's model
“With an outstanding design, great software, and some very welcome upgrades, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is tough to beat.”

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 offers minor refinements over the last generation, including a brighter display and a faster processor, with the same rugged design, battery life, and price, making it another excellent adventure companion.

The new version of Apple's rugged sports watch has many helpful enhancements, but it's a bit quirky to use—and still too dependent on your iPhone for some key features.
Onboard processing for better battery life and improved data privacy. Helpful haptic features. WatchOS 10 includes offline maps and new hiking and cycling features. Fun new watch face. Precision locating rules.
No offline maps without the phone??? Battery life still nowhere near industry standard for sports watches. Carbon neutral claims are iffy. Constant toggling between functions is annoying. 3,000-nit display doesn't make a huge difference.

A searingly bright screen and faster responses are nice but not necessary upgrades.
Incredibly bright screen ; More accurate dictation and on-device Siri ; 64GB storage means more space for music and apps ; WatchOS 10 brings great new cycling and hiking features ; Double Tap is very useful
Battery life is the same as first Ultra ; Limited recovery metrics

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is here... and you might have a hard time picking it out from its predecessor.
Rugged premium design ; Super-bright display ; WatchOS 10 is a joy to use ; Fast and responsive thanks to the new Apple S9 chip ; The new Modular Ultra watch face is great (and so is Snoopy) ; Enriched watch band options ; Better battery life than...
Double Tap feature not available at launch ; Little to no changes from the previous model ; Still a single color option

The upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is an excellent wearable; could the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 2 change that?
