Amazon Halo View review: $80 is a great price, but you get what you pay for

Amazon's Halo View is a more well-rounded fitness tracker than the first Halo, with an affordable price, but it still needs some work.

Low price ; Weekly activity score feels more useful than daily goals ; Solid sleep tracking ; Long battery life ; Subscription price is lower than competitors'

Most features require a subscription ; No call or calendar alerts on band yet ; Text messages look small on screen ; Doesn't track distance during walks or runs ; Body fat and tone analysis don't feel useful yet

Halo View Review: An Affordable Fitbit Alternative | Digital Trends

Amazon took the best features of the original Halo band, stripped out the controversial ones, and created a top-performing yet affordable Fitbit alternative.

Low cost

No GPS

“The Halo View rivals Fitbit offering a robust feature set and a price that won't break the bank.”

Amazon Halo View Review

Affordable ; Color touch screen ; Includes one year of Halo Membership ; Long battery life ; Automatic workout tracking ; Measures SpO2

Inconsistent heart rate readings in testing ; No GPS functionality ; Band can accidentally separate from tracker

For well under $100, Amazon's Halo View health tracker is an excellent tool to help-kick start your fitness journey.

Amazon Halo View review: A lightweight fitness tracker tied to a deeper app

Amazon's tracker has a screen to look at, but the real information you're looking for will appear in the Halo app.

Lightweight and comfortable to wear ; Rugged and durable, with solid waterproofing ; Screen is bright and colorful ; One year of Halo mambership included ; Affordable price

No GPS functionality at all ; Limited tracking metrics, especially if membership runs out ; Not much you can do with notifications from your phone ; Bands are a little tricky to swap out ; Privacy always casts a shadow with Amazon

The Halo View feels like a bargain from the outset because of its lower price and 12-month Halo membership, but it's best to look at the residual cost to get a better sense of the commitment involved. So much of what this tracker does sits behind that...

Amazon Halo View review: Still a work in progress

Amazon has made solid strides with its new Halo View fitness tracker, but is it enough to win people over? You can view a lot with the Amazon Halo View, but do you want to?

Up to 7 days of battery life ; Lightweight design ; Easy-to-use UI and app ; Decent fitness tracking ; SpO2 and heart-rate monitoring

Notifications are lacking ; Clunky proprietary charger ; Less-than-ideal band system ; Some features feel invasive

Bottom line: Amazon is making an effort to move up in the fitness tracking world, and the Halo View is proof of that. You get activity/sleep tracking, heart-rate monitoring, and blood oxygen tracking. You can access detailed data in the Halo app, which...

Amazon Halo View review: Costly conundrum

Find out more more about Amazon's latest tracker (and its feature-packed subscription service) in our Amazon Halo View review.

Low price point

The Amazon Halo View is a fine device for someone just starting their fitness journey. It’s not the most complex wearable on the market, but it’s also not trying to be. It’s certainly not priced to be. The Halo View is a basic tracker with plenty of...

Amazon Halo View review

The $79 Amazon Halo View is an average fitness tracker, but access to the maturing Halo wellness service makes it a more attractive wearable

Comfortable, lightweight design ; Monitors heart rate zones during exercise ; New Halo programs ; Great battery life

Doesn’t track distance ; Skin temperature sensor only used for sleep tracking ; No automatic workout tracking in Halo Fitness classes

Still for just $79, Halo View is a gateway to the rest of what Halo has to offer, and it lets you see the time at a glance. As long as you don't mind your metrics and Halo's top features tied to an app, Halo View is a solid fitness band.
