Alexa is always improving ; 13MP camera with privacy shutter ; Good sized screen

The second-generation Echo Show 8 is the best bang for your buck Alexa device with a display. It's got a much improved camera this time too.

Much-improved camera ; Pan and zoom works well ; Decent sound

No native YouTube support ; Some Skills still not great with display

The best bang-for-buck Echo device with a screen now comes with a much-improved new camera, adding to the already excellent sound. It's an ideal Alexa option for a kitchen or family room. But there's still no native YouTube, which we find perplexing.

Amazon updates its mid-sized Echo Show with a new camera and features. Much remains the same, but there's enough to warrant an upgrade.

Excellent camera ; Great sound ; Pan & zoom tracking

Few updates ; No 3.5mm jack

The new Echo Show 8 might be little changed from the original, but the upgraded camera, with automatic tracking and remote view, is a serious improvement. It's a great smart display.
