Belkin NetCam HD+ Wi-Fi Camera review

Belkin's $130 NetCam HD+ (£130 in the UK, and AU$170 in Australia) is an updated version of the brand's existing NetCam HD. The basic NetCam HD had decent specs already, but Belkin added two-way talk and WeMo product integration to its latest iteration...

This comparatively inexpensive IP camera has a lot of high-end features including night vision and two-way talk. It's also compatible with Belkin WeMo products.

You need to pay the $10 monthly or $100 yearly fee to store video clips and receive motion-related push notifications. You are dependent on the Belkin servers and the video quality can't rival the Dropcam Pro's.

Belkin's NetCam HD+ is a fantastic option for budget-minded DIY security enthusiasts, but you'll need to pay the monthly fee to get the most from this entry-level IP camera.

Belkin Netcam (HD) review

  (Rating Hidden)

Using a security camera to keep an eye on your house when you're out and about can help give you peace of mind. The Belkin Netcam HD claims to give great footage day or night. It did a good job of detecting motion in our tests, but how clear is the...

Belkin's affordable Wi-Fi camera won't break the bank

Belkin adds two-way talk and WeMo compatibility to its revamped NetCam HD+, but can this inexpensive Wi-Fi camera steal the show?

Belkin NetCam HD+ F7D7606 Review

The Belkin Netcam HD+ is a wireless security camera with 720p video resolution that is adequate, but lacks the clarity of the best cameras. However, the hidden LEDs contribute to excellent clarity and range for nighttime monitoring. This camera is also...

You can synchronize the Belkin NetCam HD+ with other smart home products.

The audio we recorded in tests was loud but indecipherable.

The Belkin NetCam HD+ produces surprisingly good nighttime video, but the daytime video is subpar and the audio unclear.

Belkin NetCam HD+ Review

The Belkin NetCam HD+ is one of the best Wi-Fi security cameras we've tested. For $129, it provides the full range of features offered by competing security cameras — motion-activated video recording, cloud storage and a robust mobile app — as well as...

Affordable ; Easy setup ; Remotely controls WeMo-compatible home accessories ; Night vision

Camera occasionally struggles to stream 720p ; WeMo functionality broken out into separate app

The Belkin NetCam HD+ offers motion-activated recording, cloud storage for footage and remote control of home accessories at a lower price than competing cameras.

pretty decent

The instructions are slightly out of date. It missed a huge step. In order to use the app features, I must sign up for a netcam account and be registered on their server. Once an account has been created and I named my device, I have to log in again....

Nice design, very light, wall-mountable. Comes with a very long 10-foot power cable, which is very helpful if you want to place your camera some place far from a power source ; A really cool feature is when there is movement and it sends an email...

You can't use this device without signing up for an account and registering the camera on their server. You also can't do firmware updates without an account

Inexpensive Video Surveillance

The netcam is nice device. For some this would be the perfect device simply to keep an eye on what ever. Cool feature is you can touch the pacman looking symbol and send sound/your voice to the netcam. Scared my daughter to death when I tested it....

The picture quality is pretty good as long as there isn't a lot of motion. I think the night vision is good also. Fairly easy to set up. Just follow the instructions.Do allow the netcam to update firmware, then the netcam will work. Compact size. very...

So this is app based (can view using belkin web page but this is not supported using chrome web browser So I didn't use it.) I did not use the android app but read reviews it was not as good as the IOS app. There is no Ipad app. To take full advantage...

Budget surveillance... at a cost.

- I used the NetCam with both a weaker 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal and a strong 5GHz one. There wasn't much, if any of a difference. So I surmise as long as you sport a decent Wi-Fi connection, the NetCam will work just fine for you. - The app isn't the only...

Belkin’s NetCam HD+ is a great beginner device for home surveillance and automation. Belkin’s WeMo integration has a lot of potential as the product line evolves. The NetCam is relatively inexpensive and does what you need it to on a basic—with a few...

The first negative feature I noticed for the NetCam was its absence of height adjustment. You may have to get creative positioning it when height is a factor ; The NetCam has a real hard time picking up movement, especially fast movement. Often I...

Belkin F7D7606

I really wanted to like this camera, but I just hate app based cameras so much. I would have at least liked to just go to an ip in my browser and put it on another monitor. Maybe you can do that, I couldn't even test it because the website doesn't work...

Decent quality when you finally get it working ; Looks decent ; Low light quality is good

I hate hate hate the trend of cameras requiring apps. Just let me plug it in somehow or use WPS ; The app is horrible, it's buggy, it crashes, it doesn't work sometimes. Half the time I don't even want to wait for it to load to check up on my place...
