CoffeeGeek - Saeco Magic Deluxe - W M's Review

It produces the best coffee I've ever had - and yes I've been to Italy several times as well as elsewhere in Europe. I do not need 100 words (what a silly requirement!) so zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Have owned this machine for over 5 years. No problems whatsoever. I've only cleaned it a handful of times. Unmatched coffee flavor

Don't put the water tank in the dishwasher - needs to be handwashed (only takes 30 seconds)

Expensive machine, good coffe, not good cost vs. value, too tricky for beginners, superautomatic = superproblematic

The machine is quite big, heavy and bulky, it has defaults in all the sensors and many they are, sometimes nothing is wrong and the machine blocks itself, the grinder is a piece of ·"%&/(, we have to continually keep pushing the beans in manually,...

if you get the hang of it it and you have tons of patience, you will eventually make great coffee, like me after i spent over 700 bucks

not good for beginers, watch out, too expensive, too tricky, many many sensors, the tanks are ,made of plastic, they may ruin easily; machine is bulky but has good appearance

This machine turned an espresso control freak into a completely satisfied auto machine user - humble pie happily eaten here.

This machine has replaced my lovely old Novitalia L'Espresso single boiler manual machine - a machine not very many people seem familiar with. To me the Nova was similar in function to say the Gaggia Classic: required a little bit of temperature...

At last a fully automatic machine that will satisfy the needs of the manual machine devotee. I can't see how making good espresso could be simpler, quicker, or more idiot-proof

Large footprint means it takes up a fair bit of your kitchen real estate, and for a machine this size, the cup warming area is not huge. Have to remove the drip tray to empty the coffee dregs. Underpowered steram arm

Great machine if you care about convenience and ease-of-use. Not so great if you're after a fine shot.

This is a good machine for those who want a quick, easy latte before work. The machine produces good steam. The crema is decent, but underextracted. The extraction time is very short - only 5 seconds after pre-brew for a small shot. The grind on my...

Easy to use, good steam, fast, decent crema, truly super-automatic

Coarse grind, essentially non-variable dosing, mediocre espresso, some internal design and reliability issues

I will never touch a SAECO machine again!!! For the same price you can definitely do better

My wife got me the Magic DeLuxe for Christmas. Thankfully, she bought it at Costco where they have a no questions asked return policy. The first one we had broke down within two weeks. It started spitting metal shavings out of the froth nozzle when...

Makes better than drip coffee when brand new

breaks down easily, and does not make real European style espresso

Love the mochas. Love the ease. And they're ready at the touch of a button! Wouldn't be without it.

I love this machine. I feel I can't do without it. It's been easy to use with consistent results to match those of espresso shops and stands. Now that it is no longer functioning properly, I have another on the way. Regardless, it has more than paid...

This is a follow up to my posting of November 20, 2003, 10:22pm. Ran into a snag ; Machine makes consistently good mochas; easy to use with just the press of a button; appears to make good crema but I'm not a pro on this; good steam and froth. You can...

Cleaning is a problem ; Hot water is a bit slow ; I now had this machine for 9 months. After a thorough cleaning, it no longer works properly. I thought maybe I didn't put it back together right but after multiple tries and my husband trying also...

A Pleasure!!!!

Bought a refurb machine direct from Saeco. Received it very quickly and it looks almost brand new. I was a little surprised by its large size, but overall its a fiarly good looking machine. Instructions are fairly straight forward and the Saeco...

Right out of the box yhis machine can be setup and used with 15 minutes. With a little tweaking ( grind, amount of coffee) this machine will produce excellent results ; Positive points are

Its a little biig ( but thats not really a problem)

Avoid at all costs

When I first received this machine I was so happy with it. It was an amazing machine brewing amazing coffee. I loved showing it off to visitors. It was beautiful and very easy to clean.

This machine looks great and cleans up easy. It's impressive to watch and (when it works) makes both great shots and a great cup of coffee. Visitors love it. The ability to use preground coffee is really nice for making a cup of decaf at any time

Very unreliable. After 3 weeks the water level sensor stopped working. After 9 months serious groaning starting coming from inside the machine. At 12 months the brew cycle became quite short. And at 14 months it basically shut down

Pays for itself! Well worth the price. Love this machine and the mochas it produces

This is my first superauto and I love it. It's paid for itself twofold in savings from buying out. In fact, I've bought some mochas that weren't as good as what I can make at home now. Machine is extremely easy to use, and duplicates results every...

Makes great mochas. Matches or surpasses store bought. Frother does a fine job

Total maintenance a little intimidating. A cup of hot water is a bit slow

This product does everything one needs to prepare a cup of espresso or coffe quickly and easily especially when running out of the house to go to work

I had been shopping for a new machine to replace the ones I had been using. One of my clients was raving about his Saeco Magic and insisted that I should forget about looking at any other machine and seeing as how he had four of them I suspected that...

My wife and I love the ability for each of us to be able to select the type and amount of coffee we want with ease. I can make my double espressos, while my wife can have singles or 6oz cups without having to fuss while quickly exiting the house

Product is quite large and bulky and the cup heating unit is small. And I do not like the fact that once I begin to use the steamer I cannot make another shot until the machine has had an opportunity to regroup and this takes several minutes. So you...
