There are scanners designed to transfer your photo prints to JPEGs, scanners designed to convert your transparencies to TIFFs and scanners whose sole purpose in life is to help create electronic records of paper documents. Xerox's ...
The DocuMate 262i isn't cheap, but for a duplex, sheet-feed scanner with this speed, it's no more expensive than the competition. The quality of the supplied software raises the overall value of the product and if you regularly need to produce...

If you want fast efficient scanning to archive documents the Xerox DocuMate 262i has to be on your shortlist.
This is a fast, efficient, duplex business scanner, which is easy to use and comes with a good selection of useful support software. Given its comparatively low-price, it's well-specified, with features like double-feed sensing, de-skewing and...

With flatbed scanners starting at around 50, a first reaction to Xerox's DocuMate 262 is to ask how the company can charge 599 + VAT for it. This is a different breed of machine from your ...
This is a fast and effective scanner for single-sided or double-sided unbound sheets. For anybody with a workload that includes a lot of OCR or image archival, it could well be a worthwhile buy, but you pay a lot for the speed. 599 + VAT is quite an...

The 66-ipm rating for duplex scanning is for 200-pixels-per-inch scans in black-and-white mode. On our tests, scanning to a PDF file, the scanner was just a hair slower, at 65.2 ipm, or 46 seconds for a 25-sheet, 50-page document. Adding an OCR step,...
Scans one side at 33 sheets per minute, or both sides at 66 images per minute. Comes with high-end versions of several programs
Although it bundles PaperPort Professional for document management, it uses Version 9 as tested, not version 10
The Xerox DocuMate 262 scans 33 sheets per minute, which translates to 66 images per minute in duplex mode, making it the fastest scanner in town for anything less than twice its price.

While one-sheet-at-a-time flatbed scanners have gotten a lot less expensive in recent years, high-end document scanners have held some of their equally high-end pricing. While most users wouldn't call the Xerox DocuMate 262 and its $1,200 MSRP "cheap,"...

Having trouble with pulling paper thru tray and making loud sqeeks sound. Maybe a roller issue. Still trying to get it to stop. It is random so hard to fix.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
very fast, very easy and fits on desk
it jams more than other machines i have had - in all fairness it may be this particular machine rather than the model

Xerox's RMA process is no more painful than anyone else's
Works well, when it works
We ordered 7 of these through 2 vendors (NewEgg being on of them). 3 have died already, 2 within the first week ; We ordered 8 other fi-6130's about the same time, all been working without a problem... so far
Consumer review (newegg.com)
We have several of these along with the similar 272 model at our office and client sites. The ADF pad requires replacement at 20K pages...easy and relatively inexpensive.
Does what it's supposed to do
None so far
