We purchased this item to assist us with our inventory. We have a small clothing store with about 5000 pieces of inventory. The scanner worked very well for the need it was intended. My only negative comment would be that it goes into a 'sleep' mode...

As TheDude states, you don't need a pairing code to get this barcode scanner to work with Windows 7 (or Vista). Just set the WWS500 to discovery mode by scanning the "Set Connection" barcode (found on page 4 of the manual, or the separate...
Cordless (Bluetooth!) ; Decent range ; Durable
Documentation (you have to download the PDF manual from the WASP support site [http://www.waspbarcode.com/Support/] - but it's convoluted because you have to click on "Product & Support Materials" and then search for WWS500 Manual (solution # 24519, by...

It looks like a good deal if your scanning only BIG barecode. Finally we ended up buying a Motorola Wireless Laser scanner at 600$ Because de WASP was unable to consistently scan every bar code we had.

Despite previous reviews, this scanner DOES in fact work with Windows Vista & 7 32bit and 64bit and also does work without using a passkey. When searching for the device in W7/Vista right click on the device > select properties > check the HID...
Wireless, Great battery life. Tech support is very helpful
Non, so far

Product works but does not set up easy. Instructions are marginal. I still cannot get the charger plug out of the unit.Needed 15 minutes with support line to set it up. Support line was very good but the usual roadblocks to get to.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
It's a workable barcode scanner for the price but the pains of bluetooth and no support for modern operating systems will leave you stinging
Cheap
Doesn't work with 64-bit Vista or 7 ; Requires passkey work arounds for 32-bit Vista ; Cheap construction

I found the installation instructions a little confusing but, with a little effort I was able to get both units up and running as advertised. I used them for a CAP training mission and they worked great. I would recommend this product although, I am...

Setup was a breeze. There was the small issue of authenticating the scanner because when entering the authentication code, the scanner inserts a carriage return after you scan a single number. This was solved by creating a bar code that matches the...
Inexpensive wireless, easy to set up, programmable
Light weight, not a laser
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Go for a RFID chip with a USB stand. Bluetooth for a measly barcode scanner is for the birds......
