Don't be fooled

 

I bought the Astra 6400 scanner because of its Firewire connection, and because of a very favorable CNet review. My opinion of CNet has gone down considerably, because I think they failed to appreciate the true nature of what Umax did with this...

IEEE1394 connectivity, not only for the scanner. N.B. NOT only for the MAC!

Button assignments don't always work, feels & looks flimsy

If you are looking for excellent quality results from a scanner, this one is not for you. For a "home use" scanning where superb results are not the aim, then by all means this scanner is ideal.

IEEE1394 connectivity, not only for the scanner. N.B. NOT only for the MAC!
